My wife is 6 months pregnant. After much debate, I convinced her to name our son Wii. I told her that as a Nintendo loyalist for 20 years, it would mean so much to me if our first child had the name of a revolutionary Nintendo system.

At first she called me crazy and would argue, but then I showed her my old 80's home videos of me playing NES and having so much fun, and then I showed her my journals about how much I adored Nintendo, and all that stuff... she started crying (tears of happiness) and said "Our son will be called Wii."

He's due in mid-November.

I am convinced this is fake, but if it actually is real: heaven have mercy on that child.

He has videos of himself playing games... and journals about how much he adores Nintendo??? This has got to be BS.

If it is real, then that couple is lame. I hate people that name their kids after stupid crap that THEY themselves like (who cares that another system might be out by the time the kid is old enough to play games?). It's bad enough that someone else gets to name you, but when it's something crappy like this you just want to slap some damn sense into these people.

Faaaaaaaaake! Seriously, tears of happiness that her hubby is obsessed with video games? Plus, this sounds way to corny to possibly be a true story:

And I'd imagine if a guy had videos and journals chronicling his lifelong love of the Big N he would've dragged them out and forced them down his wife's throat a million times already so there's no reason she'd have such a reaction to it. It would've been a lot more believable if he's just played it as he and his wife wanting a unique name and when he suggested Wii she thought it was funny. The whole convincing her aspect is the unrealistic part.
