    Final Fantasy 12

I've noticed that recently I don't spend as much time with RPGs as I used to. (Nevertheless, I'm looking forward for ZTP, PokemonDS, FF3 and possibly FF12. ) I've played the FF12 demo, but didn't even complete it. I just have mixed feelings about this game. So, what are your opinions?

I didn't like the demo in DQ8, it felt like Baulder's Gate...

I will be getting FF3 DS, though; if only to send everyone threatening Mog Mail.
Oh my god! You are so beautiful.
I had no idea how beautiful you were.

I'm looking forward to FF12. If it disappoints, though, then I'll be done with the Final Fantasy series forever.

I'm very hesitant too...I'll still prolly get it though.

And btw, I'd totally geek out if Ashley showed up.

My excitement for FF12 has waned greatly from having to wait so long. Also other RPGs like VP Silmeria coming along to steal away my interest. I'll probably get it eventually but I'm notorious for not getting games until long after they've gone Greatest Hits or just landed in the bargain bin.

I want to play that one from Level 5, Rogue Galaxy or something. Then I guess whenever FF12 drops I'll play it. Not too keen on FF3. I guess I'll end up getting it because it's final fantasy and I need a new DS game, but I'd have rather had them just update in 2d like Origions.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

I'll probably skip on this FF, since I just don't like the character designs or the battle system. Plus the dungeons in that demo game looked really boring.

I had higher hopes for FF13, but I read that they are trying to add "downloadable" eposides....meaning that you won't get a full story at the get-go.

yeah right. what does that even mean? you won't give final fantasy any chance afterwards just because 12 wasn't your cup of tea? that's rather harsh.

i'm looking forward to FFXII. i doubt i'll get a chance to play it right when it comes out, but eventually.

Considering the mixed quality of the past several Final Fantasy and Square games I don't think that's harsh at all. Pretty damn fair I'd say.

                  You and me both, baby.

Like a shmuck I got mine pre-ordered but I have no idea when I'll actually get to play it. This coming semester is either gonna save me or absolutely crush me.

                    Re: Final Fantasy 12

I kind of understand exactly what Funk is talking about. I was thoroughly underwhelmed with the demo (though I felt it was a watered-down KOTOR, not Baldur's Gate). However EGM's recent article on it and talking about how the demo really isn't indicative of the full game and acknowledging that a LOT of people were disappointed has raised my excitement quite a bit (though certainly not what it was for 7, 8, 9, or 10).

I do have to say that the 5 year wait between FFs after almost having a new FF every 2 years kind of dimmed my excitement for the series, not to mention its moving into new territory that I'm not sure is right for it.

The way FF12 felt to me, I'd rather also have the American openness and customization. It also doesn't help that Dragon Quest VIII so thoroughly epitomized exactly what I want from a Japanese RPG. FF is kind of feeling like a hybrid that isn't needed.

I'm looking forward to it, at least its a completely different take on the franchise that is fresh, unlike FF13, which looks to cater to the typical FF crowd.

I've lost interest in FF12 a while back. Its been such a long wait that I just stopped carring. Plus, there are games I am much more interested in.

The man who was originally the project lead for the game before his supposed "mental exhaustion" was the same guy who made the Tactics series (I think), and it's set in the same world as the Tactics games, so that gives me something to look forward to. But I don't think, as of right now, anyway, that I'll be paying any $50 for it...

It's not set in the same world as the Tactics games. It's probably the "Final Fantasy" that FFTA referenced.

I thought it was set in Ivalice. Anyway, FF 12 does have those weird rabbit-eared women, though, so that counts for something.
