I'm actually eagerly waiting for FFIII and I don't own a DS... yet. I really do hope they don't rush it. That never works out well.

Hey Redneck, you know this FFIII game they are releasing is NOT the same FF3 we got on the SNES right? (which was actually FF6).

            Re: contemplating another PSP

It has out-shipped the DS in america. more units have been shipped to stores. thats how sony does their numbers. they wont ever tell you how many units of their systems have actually sold, but they'll happily tell you how many they've shipped to retailers. Sega did the same thing.
That's how most businesses handle things, though, because that's usually all they have to go on. Independent retailers don't generally tell a company every time they sell that company's product, they just order more when they sell out, or come close to selling out. Does Nintendo say they know how many units have sold to the consumers? Odds are good when they say they know how many units have been sold they mean units sold to wholesalers and merchants, not consumers.

But hasn't PSP kinda had the better selection of RPGs so far anyway? I mean, there was Popowhateveritscalled, which I have yet to try but hear good things about, and there's...um... Well, I can't do much better with the DS.
The Untold Legends series is actually pretty good. Most of the people here don't appreciate it because it isn't artsy or intellectual enough. They wouldn't make it as PS2 games, but the first one is the only game I felt was worth getting in the PSP's early days.

Plus, the Metal Gear Acid games are more RPG than anything else.

Also, aside from the power button occasionally trying to fall out after a 6-foot fall on a hard tile floor. I've never had a problem with my PSP. Is there a place where I could get a replacement power switch to pop in there? Would it require a major repair job to replace?

sometimes. but when they talk about units shipped, they say "units shipped" instead of pretending that number is their actual sales number.

Sony thinks it'll make it as a PS3 game though.

                          Re: contemplating another PSP

I'm worried that FF3 DS will have a dumbed down difficulty level (and I think the original used FF1's MP system, so they'll probably wind up changing that, which means an overabundance of magic like in FF1 Advance). FFI&II advance were way too easy and more unbalanced than before. FFIV Advance was arguably easier than the PS1 version as well.

As it should have become clear a long time ago, I cannot possibly have any friends.

Friends who have a PSP and a copy of Monster Hunter Freedom and time to get together to play it.

I like Mora also have no friends. Well I have one but she doesn't own any video games and I hardly ever see her anyway. So for me multiplayer is only possible online.

                                Re: contemplating another PSP

All my friends have DSes. Since there are about a million multiplayer games for that anyway. They're also been burned by Sony in the past. One friend went through two (or 3?) Sony MD players before he finally got the hint.

Ninja Gaiden and MGS3:S are games that come to mind as far as self-improvement goes...

Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops looks like something I may need to have.
