I never improved much on NG. I just used the same few moves over and over, and downslashed when those exploding things were on me. That is, until Master Ninja.

I improved much earlier on DMC3 though(Cerberus makes sure of that), but that was in the original.

I picked up the greatest hits special edition a few days ago because I had heard that it was incredibly difficult in a way that required you to progressively better your playing skills,
No, it's difficult in a way that it's limiting.

I have the original DMC3, I haven't played it in a while, I stopped after I think lvl15 cause I needed a ton of red orbs to buy all these new skills and I just didn't feel like doing it.

Leveling in the game is quite boring.

I loved DMC3, so much fun I had with it. It took forever, but I beat all of the difficulty modes in it. Now I'm trying to do that with the special edition. I'm just glad that this game didn't suck like DMC2. That game had no ****ing story! I refuse to accept the stuff that happens at the very end a story. That alone nearly killed the series for me. Thanks to DMC3, I'm determined to play the first game now.

What were the problems with DMC2?

It just left me empty inside. There were alot of things I liked about it, though. Like; The multiple demon forms you can take and I enjoyed the weapons. Unfortunately, I found the entire adventure to be almost pointless. Until like half way through the game I didn't even know there was a villian. And until the very end I didn't know what Dante was trying to prevent him from doing. Also the characters seemed kind of bland. I couldn't find myself caring for any of the characters, one way or the other. DMC2 could have been much better, IMO. With some more work it could have been a great game.

I don't see why people felt the need to get all kinds of moves and stuff in DMC3. Yeah it's challenging, but man, revolver isn't gonna solve ALL your problems, ya know? For most of the game, that's the only move I bought. I saved my orbs mostly for extra life/devil runes, I try to finish levels with no items, CUZ IT'S THE ONLY WAY I'LL LEARN.

Devil May Cry 2 wasnt that bad a game actually. Its just that after playing the first one, its like taking a step back in every direction. That and you could kill any and every boss in the game with just your guns, by standing far away and shooting.

Adding- Youl ned lots of moves if you wanna be able to break thos combo statues that hold blue orbs. Without those you cant increase your max life. You need to do some crazy nonstop combos using different moves constantly to break some of those things. theres 1 or 2 I gave up on.

I watched someone play DMC 2 (or whichever one they reissued as a greatest hits game with the unlockable brother), and it just seemed like you walked into a room, a bunch of enemies appeared, you killed them, then walked to another room where more enemies appeared, ad nauseum. This game looked pretty stupid to me. I do not understand the big attraction.

Thats another thing about DMC3. Instead of just running around killing things, using all the different crazy moves to fight is just cool to watch.

I loved the move of knocking the enemy down, and riding him around like a surf board

DMC1: I've only beat it on easy mode. Normal mode was just plain a *****. Not much to complain about, though.

DMC2: Way easier, and you got some cool new moves, as well as keeping some old moves, but the story felt pretty empty. Almost like if they made Silent Hill 1 with just Harry, no Cheryl, no cop, no creepy lady, just a foggy town with monsters. Plus it's the first game I ever played that didn't feel like it had a begining or an ending. The intro does a poor job of introducing the characters, and the ending, well, best not ruin what little of it there is.

DMC3: I've barely played this one, but from what little I've played, I got my ass kicked by the reaper thing in stage one. Then I think I went back to RPGM3. I'm hoping it shed's some light on a few things I've wondered about the series, rather than being a fairly plotless series of loosely tied action sequences like the 2nd.

I saw a little kid beat DMC2 with the TV off.
