The easy way to not get frustrated is to realize this is just because you're a newb, and with more play time under your belt you'll get better. You obviously don't have much FPS experience or skill, so maybe the beginning is worse for you, but, eh -- just stick with it. Little whiney babies kills the fun for good players
If I actually OWNED a computer, and wanted to play games on it, I probably would prefer keyboard and mouse. As it stands, I've only ever played FPS on console. But I've never been good at precise aiming. I guess I don't have the coordination or something, but I always try to line up my shot perfectly, even in the middle of a firefight, and consequently miss 3/4 of the time, because once I line my shot up, the guy I'm trying to kill has probably moved behind me, and is shooting me with a machine gun or something. Or, if I try to just shoot a bunch of bullets in his general direction, 3/4 of them end up missing, and again, I'm dead. That's the main reason I don't have any interest in online console FPS games. It's no fun to die every fifteen seconds.
That being said, as I just got sidetracked, I think I'd do MUCH better using mouse and keyboard. It just seems like it would be a much more precise way to play the genre.
The way it is, when playing multiplayer, the only chance I have to make the score somewhat respectable is when there are rocket launchers and/or shotguns on the map. You don't need to be precise with those.
I have a laptop that wasn't made for gaming. I can't really upgrade it to run friggin' TF2. That's why I have a Xbox. So it can play games made for it.
Basically my interest in this was being able to play with people I know instead of random jerkheads who would headshot me and make me not want to play. If I can't play with you guys, I'm not getting it, I guess.
