    Re: FF VII Remake

Choco/Mog is a perfect example how what realistic graphics could ruin. The animation had a cartoon "BOOM" effect with little stars appearing over Mog's head. That would seem totally out of place in a realistic-looking game. (King Tonberry being an exception. DOINK!)

EGM is always wrong it seems, they write these stories to just gain people's attention.

I would probably buy a remake if they made one, but I never thought it was that great of a game.

        It was OK I guess.

I can't think of another instance besides that one. Although they gave Kingdom Hearts II stellar reviews.

Once PS3 costs at most $300 then I may get it...

I liked the Materia system. But would I buy a remake? Mabye. After it became a greatest hits, 20/30$ game.

They can make it look better, but it will still be as tedious and mediocre as the first time around.

Add a few cutscenes Crono Trigger style, make Clouds arms look good, add a few side-quests and minigames, and I'll be just fine with a remake.

I do worry about the humorous side though... A lot of the scenes are based on the cartoony graphics, and wouldn't look good realistic. The date scene, chocobo, the parade even.

They're gonna prob fix the choboco race glitch though. I liked using that...

You really don't notice spelling errors or gramatical errors to much but they would have to fix those...

I think they should keep the style of the game but just add a thousand polygons to the characters.

It was ok, but the problem with it was that it made every character completely the same, making none of them any more important than the others. If you needed a healer just give the person you want in your party healing materia. If you want a fighter, give the person in your party offense-based materia. Black mage-like character? just give them materia like fire, blizzard, or bolt. None of the characters were really special in any way.

I wonder how a graphical update would interperate Bugenhagen. Is he a glow worm? Does he have a crystal ball for feet? What's with those glasses?

                        Truly, Nomura's greatest character design.

Did he ever even draw him? Like, normally?

No. I doubt that Nomura even designed the character. I don't know who did, some grunt probibly, I just get the feeling he's so wacky because Square realized that players probibly wouldn't like a tradiotonal dirty hippy telling them to save the world.

I thought his archetype was supposed to be "Wizened Old Asian Man". Like, Pat Morita or somesuch.

I always thought Bugenhagen was just a old man, it's been a long time since I've played FF VII so I can't quite remember what he looked like :/
