    Re: FFXI anyone?

I got my Warrior to level 35 or so, and everything else to 10, before I got bored and gave up. I wonder if I could still reactivate or if its too late.

Now and then, SquareEnix has this 'Return to Vanadiel" thing where you can recover your old characters if it's been manually deleted or just removed from inactivity.

        Re: FFXI anyone?

I've thought about restarting FFXI, I loved it, but if it isnt solo friendly enough i wont go back to it. WoW is solo friendly, but i got bored of it. City of Heroes is the only MMORPG that i havent gotten bored with, and even sometimes i get bored if my friends arent on.

How much does City of Heroes cost? I might start playing again on that. I quit because I didn't like how long it took to do things, it was really slow paced.

well d2king just started playing 2 weeks ago, and he already has a character to lvl 20(or was it 17?), you can pretty much level as fast or as slow as you want. I level slow, because i make SO many alts that it is sad.

Oh, Dray.. see.. that's the thing about Final Fantasy XI. It's about team work.
Being in a team sure didn't help me get a subjob the first time. At least not until I wound up getting help from a L50 player (I think it was one of us) who led me a cave full of those skeletons. Then I waited around for 15 minutes as he plowed through them until finally the required item popped up.

See, it's not that the game is hard. I don't find the game hard at all. It's just more tedious than it should be. I shouldn't have to spend real-life days in the desert to get where I'm going. A single quest should not take more than a day to finish (based on how long you play each day; I played for a few hours at a time).

I've never spent 5 hours waiting for a party. The most I've had to wait for a party was a good hour or two, and that only happened a couple times. Usually it took close to a half-hour. Even if I got into a party early on, I still had to wait for my team to fill the party up the rest of the way. And though this can't be helped, frequently the wait was longer due to the newest party member being some distance away from where we were.

Of course, it's plenty fun when you do get into a good party. Too bad WoW is too solo-friendly. I mean, I like soloing now and again, but partying is nowhere near a necessity outside of specific dungeons. (But then, I'm only at L12, so I could be wrong.)

You must've had the right parties. All my parties chose to stay by the beach and only occasionally when out to get the skeletons during the not-so-frequent occasion that one was sighted nearby.

                      Re: FFXI anyone?

The other two items turned up fairly quickly. But besides those items, there's stuff like having to get I think "soot" or something like that from a bomb. Those bombs only came out on certain days, and when you're lucky enough to find one, you also have to be lucky enough that it'll drop the right item when you defeat it. If I remember, the reward for finishing that quest was lousy.

yea, some quests dont payoff, but others payoff alot more than they should. so it evens out.

But one must do that quest if they intend to "complete" the game. If the quest is there, then I must do it. Same thing with weapons. Gotta master every weapon type in the game.

no, no, no, no, no... That is so wrong... "completing" the game does not mean getting everything done in the entire game... To tell the truth there is no way to "complete" a MMORPG, they add stuff to FFXI all the time. If one wanted to "complete" the game they way your talking about, it would take years of sleepless playing.
