    Re: Beating the dead horse.

See, the thing is, I read a lot of videogame mags, and I've read a lot of videogame mags. I've read just about every mag, every month. That's not a thing I'm proud of, but it's the truth. I even wrote a paper about videogame journalism, I enjoy this aspect of gaming. Yet, I've never heard or read anything about psx FF remakes.

I don't want to be a jerk. And I don't want to come off as an asshole, but you've guys have yet to show proff that Square ever had ideas of such a thing. Unless you provide something, I'm going to think you're talking out of you ass. No offense.

I love Final Fantasy 7, I don't get why most people seem to be so down on it.

I don't know Beatles albums but if you take the album that started their accension from boy band to something else, Final Fantasy is that album for the videogame industry.

        Get it?
        ....No.

Face it Final Fantasy 7 is the reason you play videogames.
Uhhh....no? I didnt make it through the first disc and I gave the game back to my friend, I thought it was stupid.

There was this one game however that is the reason I play videogames....oh yeah Final Fantasy Tactics....yup the whole reason I bought a PS1.

.....and super mario 3....cant forget super mario 3

            Re: Beating the dead horse.

And secondly, NO NO NO NO NO. There are already three remakes of FF1 and FF2. Remakes are retarded.
Not all the time. In cases where the remake is of a hard-to-find game (besides eBay) like Dragon Warrior 4 or a game that never had a real US release like Final Fantasy II, it seems like a good idea. Although I'll admit bringing us Dawn of Souls a mear 1.5 years after Origins was rediculous. Then again, they got Origins not too long after the WonderSwan Color remakes, but then the WSC didn't do too well anyway.
I don't remember TV commercials for Mario 64
I remember one. It was for an N64 price drop, and they showed Mario doing backflips and the like all over Peach's front yard. Interestingly, I don't remember every seeing FF7's commercials on TV.

I can't prove it, but I also remember when they were talking about it.

'Cause people claim it's the start of Square's focus on graphics over gameplay. I think people would've liked it better had it used an in-game engine for all its cutscenes.

I can't believe Loki thinks we're a bunch of liars.

Also, I thought FF7 sucked. Big time.

                  What about 8, 9 and 10(-2)?

My dislike for FF8 is that it is the only game where you don't have to level up and in some cases you are actually encouraged to try and stay at as low a level as possible.

I like tactics and 9....thats its..the rest I see as crap.

10 had the awesome idea of blitzball, but the characters turned me away.

                          Re: Beating the dead horse.

For some reason I liked FF9 the most out of the other two (the load times and 5-second camera panning before the start of each battle are the biggest downsides I find with FF9). 7 was okay, but 8 could've been better IMO. Personally, I don't see how FF8 and FF9 would need remade in the first place. Yeah, those are low-poly models, but they still look pretty good. FF7...nope, don't want it remade. Unless they find a way to do so while keeping the original's graphical charm.

As long as they kept the music I don't think the graphics would have that big of a deal.

Personally, I'd like to see an FFVII remake with graphics similar to those in Advent Children. But that's just me.

The overall atmosphere of Midgar was awesome. I wish more of the game could have had that feel.
