Re: Remakes you want to see happen

as much as I love the classic versions, Parasite Eve and Final Fantasy VII could stand to be revamped.
I would also enjoy the hell out of a new Actraiser.

I always wanted to play THE HIDEO'S "Snatcher" and "Policenauts." Is there any way I can play those now?

Re: Remakes you want to see happen

I'm replaying Parasite Eve right now. It was the first game to truly disturb me because it took place in a creepingly modern setting just like Persona 2 did.

I bought Snatcher and a Sega CD for $80 off Amazon last year and it randomly pops up on Amazon for about $20 and it's ALWAYS being sold on Ebay.

As far as Policenauts goes, it never had an American release date. Originally, Kojima said that he was releasing a Collectors Edition or something to the American and European audiences but that was canceled in 2001 or something. It's just an interactive video... nothing special but the animation is really good. Snatcher is also a watered down text-based adventure game with some anime cutscenes. It's pretty short (and for the most part, boring and shallow) but it features some excellent writing, humerous voice acting ("MY NAME IS GILLIAN SEED!!") and it's one of the few games with an authentic cyberpunk atmosphere ripped from a Phillip K. Dick novel. It's recommend just to play through once to experience it and see the goofy ass Metal Gear that the new model from MGS4 is based off of.

I'd like to see a version of Xenogears without all the useless characters and sidetracking.

And I want Monolith to keep their hands off of it.

          ... And Square, too.

You know what? I'll make it.

How about a Xenogears where you actually play the second disc instead of watching it and reading the text? Please make that, I'll pay you hundreds.

But then the game would be a billion hours long.

A new Actraiser would be nice. Other remakes I'd like to see:

                    Space Taxi (Commodore 64)
Ultima IV, Ultima V and Ultima VI

The original Parasite Eve does deserve a remake. They could even make a playable version of PE2!

I would love to see a RE2 remake with the RE4 gameplay.

Hunk and Tofu still need their own series together.

Final Fantasy 6. That game is cinematic as is, but imagine what it'd be like in 3D. We're at a point where the original graphics could easily be mimiced in 3D, so it's possible. As long as it doesn't get an Advent Children makeover. Or a Final Fantasy Advance makeover. We don't need another pushover FF game. FF6's balancing doesn't need altered at all. And most of all, as long as they don't pull an FF7 on it.

Too bad it's not going to happen, since they're already porting it for the second time to GBA, with likely an easier or less balanced difficulty.
I'd like to see the Phantasy Stars gussied up.
Didn't they already try that? Sucked when news spread the projects were cancelled.
-the original Mother/Earthbound Zero (nes to GBA/DS)
They already did, but it never got translated. Oh wait, they were ports.
