Go play Castlevania III: Draculas Curse

Tonight is the perfect night to play this game. Why? just cause. Go dust off your NES, hook it up to your TV, and Play this game from beginning to end.

I feel so nastalgic about this game. no other castlevania stands up to it IMO.

If you are feeling whimpy, put "help me" for your name. It will give you 10 lives instead of 3 on each continue. (But you probably knew that)

If you are a fan of the music, on the still title screen press and hold select, start, B, A, and down, and then you have access to the soundtrack. (But you probably knew that)

Which way will you go? Syfas path or Alucards?

This is relevant because I am currently playing Curse of Darkness. Or whatever it's called. The one with the devil forging which has Trevor Belmont.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

I love the mini-bosses compilation they did with some of the levels music...it just plain rocks in the beginning. If you haven't checked it out I still think its on their website. Oh and good memories with that I got Castlevania 3 for my birthday when I was seven...exactly 14 years ago today. For those of you who are slow today is my B-day...

        Happy Birthday Geno!

"I always liked Grant.. I remember my friends insisting Syfa was a man.

I couldn't prove them wrong until SOTN. Take that, childhood friends!"

Actually, If you beat the game with Syfa, Her hood comes down and her long Blond hair flows in the wind in the ending scene...

Yeah I remember that...she was my favorite because of her spells. I always thought Alucard was too weak and when I was a kid I thought it was so cool that alucard was dracula spelled backwards. By the way wasn't Syfa spelled Sypha in the game?

Fond memories of this one. I was a lil disappointed it didn't have the open ended-ness and time based gameplay of Castlevania 2 though. What a terrible night to have a curse.

Grant was my favorite by far, and as many times as I've played this game over the years, I've never come remotely close to beating it. I can't get past the ghost ship with Syfa, and Alucard's play just irritates me...those crystals he shoots are too weak, although I do like changing into a bat, if only I could keep him in that form.

I love Castlevania 3. It's my favorite of the NES games by far, and a lot of its levels had really cool gameplay mechanics, like the one with the falling blocks that you have to climb. The game is frigging hard, too. I could never beat the last boss without an emulator.

First DL i'm going to get on the Wii.

Alucard is awsome, thus why it will be my first DL.

Castlevania 2 is my favorite by far, for the reason that is has a great mood.

Simon's Quest is okay, but it's far too confusing (I don't see how Kire can enjoy it but get lost in SotN) what with the obscure goals and intentionally misleading messages from townspeople. I could never actually beat the game until I looked up FAQs.

Dracula's Curse is where it’s at. I used to walk dragging my feet like Trevor. <3<3<3
I recently decided that the backgrounds look like they were inspired by old Tales from the Crypt comics. Who else agrees?
Oh my god! You are so beautiful.
I had no idea how beautiful you were.

The first Castlevania will always be my favorite in the series. There is something about it that makes me all tingly inside... hehe, it tickles.

I donno. I was playing SotN again recently and found a sword called Terminus Est. That shot the game up about a million awesome points.

I've never played III. I didn't have it during the NES days and I've never liked playing Castlevanias the... special way. I was hoping it would get ported to GBA but alas only the first one did.
