Just hit chapter 8. I... I love this game and its characters. I also love the battle system. I, too, had some skepticism about Lightning's personality, but she became a lot better a few chapters in. Right around the middle of chapter 2, maybe. I reallly didn't like Hope a ton, either, but now? I really like him. There's not a single character I don't hate! I'm really starting to like Snow a lot more now that chapter 7's over, too.

Yeah, this game... it's like Square's learned so much from itself. It's like the ever-progressing storytelling of X with the party management of XII with the it's-really-hectic-but-actually-really-thoughtful combat of The World Ends With You...

I think I love it.

This game is determined to play itself to a much greater extent than FFXII ever did.
