The definition of Next GEN graphics

Crysis. You may have been impressed with Killzone 2, Gears of War, and all the other "Next gen" games but this eclipses all.

Now I just need to cry in a corner because I'll never get to play it.

Wow, I didn't know screenshots showed off a game's graphical capabilities!

      That sure is pretty.

But "Next GEN" is the most annoying buzzword since "X-Treme". Please don't use it. Or I will make this face:

      XBox Live: Alzar2k
      Playstation Network: Alzar2k

Aren't PC games completely seperate from the whole generation thing anyway? If not when does PC go to the next generation? When a new graphics card becomes standard or all the games coming up up their RAM requirements? In that case a PC gen lasts about 8 months if you're lucky.

Which ones? Crysis's unimpressive graphics, or Killzone 2? I cant wait to see your jaw drop when you are proven wrong(if you were talking about Killzone2).

Killzone 2 is in fact fake. The guys who did the CG cutscenes for the original Killzone did the fake gameplay footage for E3.

Those pictures remind me of when Gran Turismo 4 was in development, and we posted screenshots here. The ones where everyone drooled, and I made the statement that there is no way the screenshots were real. I was told I was wrong, and when GT4 came out, I discovered I was right all along.

I would like to see anyone who says those graphics arn't good do that.

Although they are nice I could still tell it was fake, but think about how quickly graphics is coming. Not many years ago we were all playing games and the graphics were good. Now they are retarded compared to what we play now. Just wait a couple more years and see what we got. I still remember hearing how can the X-Box get better. It did.

Oh and nothing is perfect. So don't expect perfect graphics to come any time soon.

Doom 3 was the first next gen game out of the gates I believe. If Im correct, that is what, going on 2 years?

Which screen are you referring to? Every screen or video ever posted for that game looks like the game? I've never seen any "bullshot" come from polyphonal.

I agree, Killzone 2 is going to own everything in gaming. The first one was one of the most impressive looking games on current gen, and the gameplay was hella fun to boot. Those guys know how to wrangle the sony hardware, I fully expect the game to look like the CG they showed at e3.

Ivalice, if you want to debate about GT4, let's start another topic about it. I own GT4, so I know the game well. It does NOT look as good as the screenshots, unless you just don't notice.

Personally, I don't know how anybody can keep their sanity making a model of hundreds of thousands (and potentially millions) of polygons. Unless making 3D models is a lot simpler than I thought.

Hmm... *looks at unused demo of 3D Modeler*

The whole point of technology is to automate things, to make things easier. I would be incredibly shocked if 3D Developers didn't have tools to make things easier.
