I picked up a set of jeweler's screwdrivers (set being about 8) for $5 off ebay. I had the same problem with a shoulder button that got stuck and it was a fairly simple operation to set the button back into position. It hasn't given me any problems since. Even if you bought a new controller, the problem you're having is due to use, it could happen to any controller, new or old.
So you're a fish out of water...
Keep swimming.
What else can you do?
My "X" button is doing the same thing. I'm not gonna sledge it though since i've had it before i've even had a PS2. (3rd party) and the fact it is programable makes it to nice to smash.
