I don't think this will happen...but if it does I will not buy a PS3.
1.As said before rental stores buy many games, in my town we have three that's alot of games lost when you think of all the rentals around the world.
2. They'd be better off using scrunchies
(This are essentially external keys, that would connect to the PS3 in order to operate the particular game. The key comes with the game)
Reproducing scrunchies are much more difficult, and it is much more noticeable since few ppl could replicate the hardware even after they broke through the encoded/passworded software.
