Apparently, and this is what I heard, the more you die at a boss and use continues the more yellow herbs you'll find to increase your health. So the game feels SORRY for you.

...I guess that could explain why my life was maxed out by the middle of the game.

I beat the game my second time through without dying once, and I still found the exact same number of yellow herbs.

Anyone remember that part in the castle where the cage drops on you, and then Galnados and one of those blind Wolverine guys come in and attack you? I died so many times there that after a while the blind Wolverine guy stopped appearing. I felt gipped/jipped/gypped.

I've finally rented this game becuase I'm so poor.

            This game freaking rocks!

Control got a a lot better and I think it really adds to the experience.

              Whoo!

              Glad you bought it, Highwind.

I just beat my second play through in 5 hours. Yippy! Pretty easy when you start with a maxed out magnum, and shotgun.

How did you control the guys in previous Resident Evils. Isn't it the same as what's here, except with a stationary camera?

                (And where's the spoiler tag?)

The movement control is more or less the same, but as someone else posted on the other forums, it's a lot more intuitive when the camera is always behind you. The shooting controls are improved to allow you to aim wherever you want to, as opposed to just straight ahead, up, or down. Coupled with the addition of damage zones on the enemies, this makes a huge difference in the combat.

Re: Resident Evil 4. I love it.

Well I finally beat it. 18 hours 40 minutes, like 500 enemies killed and 84 deaths, oh the spectacular dying.

I have one big comlaint, and that's with the total suckage of a few bosses later on in the game.

                    *SPOILERS*

Salazar was a complete joke. I found a spot to stand where he couldn't even hit me, all I had to do was L+R dodge an attack everyonce and a while.

Saddler was also pathetic. A few stabs to the eye and one rocket blast. I don't think he even hit me, bleh.

Fighting krauser multiple times was fun. The knife fight in which he killed me like 6 times was really cool, although a hassle. The fight in the Ruins area was cool but he was still too easy. Just shoot him in the feet when he has his shield up and he'll trip, then blast him in the face.

The "Alien" bodyguard of Salazar was intense. When the fight first started I tried doing stuff with the nitrogen but I couldn't shoot it or move it or anything. I ran around dodging him for the full 4 minutes while the elevator was coming. In the last 30 seconds it let me knock over the nitrogen and froze him, I just ran into the elevator instead of trying to kill him at that point.

IT was another intense part. After I dropped all the sections and got to fight him, the rocket launcher I had came in quite handy. 1 shot from that and one shotgun blast took him down. I wonder if you can kill him inside the crate area?

The masochist El Gigante were pretty cool. After I dropped the first one into the pit I just took the other out with a rocket.. that weapon is way too easy to afford for how awesome it is, you get too much money in the game. Whenever I ran into something tough I would buy a rocket launcher and that would solve everything. Two blind claw guys in the same room? Rocket!

Overall the story of the game seems kind of pointless. The only reason for the parasites and the Illuminados ultimately was to further Umbrella's expiriments? In that case the main game is basically a sidestory of Assignment Ada Blah blah presidents daughter, and other Leon filler.

                    *SPOILER END*

Still this definately goes in my list of favorite games among Soul Reaver, Fatal Frame and Valkyrie Profile.

Yes, ultimately, the story goes nowhere. A shame, but, hey. It's Capcom.

Armored you suck at the game. I never even used the rocket launcher and did better than you my first time through. :P

AND WHATS UP WITH THE GENRE CHANGING ENDS THAT CAPCOM LIKES?

SPOILER (where are the spoiler tags? ...)

Yeah, Capcom loves that 'ol last minute genre switch... Viewtiful Joe, Onimusha 2, Devil May Cry... what else?

I really wish they get their **** together with the story. They got a stable of memorable characters and just about FIVE MILLION loose threads and they're just sitting on them. WTF?!

The way I see it, RE4 is the new chapter of the series, kinda like a reboot. Everything's gonna start FRESH. ...Funny, I can't think of any analogies. The first thing that comes to mind is Star Trek IV... what the hell...?!

Not to mention, Jet Skiing, with that strange to the side camera, makes it really hard to get an idea of where you are at exactly.

I could go through this game with just knifing and boot-@$#&ing the ganados, with no health. And then put in some "overtime" with your mom.
