But I also loved Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy Tactics.

Well, if we're posting visuals; click this:

Made that video years ago and know I posted it here, but it's still in photobucket - so here it is again.

        MOO!

          Tactics, sucka!

Then FF7, if we were excluding SRPGs.

Much as I like the PS1, I have to admit that I wasn't as impressed by its RPGs as the SNES (excluding port stuff like FF 4-6 and CT). Not even close.

                Valkyrie Profile.

It's the one game on the Playstation that, even though I haven't played it more than other RPGs, I constantly want to.

It develops characters more fully and poignantly in four minutes of scenes than some games can pull off over 40 hours. It's, like, the only RPG I can think of that takes itself seriously and actually has a RIGHT to.

Also, ****ing beating the **** out of zombie dragons makes me feel GREAT

I also like that the vampires are dressed so anachronistically in long black trenchcoats, and cast their spells by snapping their fingers in the air

Xenogears and Suikoden II are the two that stand out above all others to me.

                        Re: Your favorite PS1 RPG?

If I were to whittle the list down to my favorite five, it'd likely be:
                        • Alundra (blah blah blah its not an rpg)
                        • Final Fantasy IX
                        • Final Fantasy Tactics
                        • Suikoden II
                        • Vagrant Story

Amongst those, I would probably delegate Final Fantasy IX as my favorite one it's emblematic of the era's strengths and style in ways the others aren't, and it feels like a much more complete package without much to get hung-up on in the way of complaints.

Forgettable story and awful character designs. ;3

I'm probably repeating myself, but I really don't remember much after Disc 1. Iifa Tree? Ipsen's Castle? Something about another planet?
