It's kind of the nature of the beast. All discussions here become tangental and divulge into whatever it is that might be related.

Unless you wanted to save MP to case Bolt and do 9999 damage, Morph sucks. It loses its efficiency way too early after you acquire it to be a good ability.

****ty abilities that become useless 25% into the game aside from Tools and Blitz as I said above doesn't really make the argument. If the abilities were balanced, which they clearly are not--you would have a point.

And this topic isn't about FF12, so make your own damn topic if you want to argue with Mora about it.
Gau's ability is effective in the early to mid game, when some of his critter forms have access to spells your characters can't cast themselves for some time yet. And for all the time it takes, I'd still say Cyan's ability is decent as well.

It's fine to ask me and Mora to stop derailing the thread with the FF 12 talk...but only if you don't also participate in it. You can't address it and then say "Stop talking about it." Or else you're just contributing to the derailment of your own thread by necessitating my response to what you said about how unique abilities somehow make for less distinct characters than a game which has no unique abilities whatsoever.

And are you saying each character only gets one Esper, then? What happens to the Espers that aren't assigned, they'll just sit unused?

I thought part of FFVI's design was that it would become really easy if you knew how to hit bosses just the right way. Like the Phantom Train. FFV was the same way too. Find the right job combinations and bosses turn to putty.

All I'm saying is that I think the designers meant for FFVI to become easy once you knew the "trick" to battles. I think it's putting its presentation ahead of meaty difficulty in battles.

Personally, I always found Slots very useful. Sure, I'd wind up with Lagomorph more often than not, but it's a nice little extra insurance while waiting for one of the big spells to take effect. Dance has also proven worthwhile for me.

Anyway, here's an easy way to add difficulty: don't equip Relics. (Especially not the one that lets you attack four times in a single turn and make people go all "Ohhh this game is too easy". Well don't use the OPTIONAL super-equipment, stupid!)

Also, this topic makes me wonder if there's a hard mod of this game, somewhere.

And let's not forget FFXII International Zodiac Job System~
Easy to do since, you know, we never actually got it.

Also: Rename all of the characters KEFKA because it transforms the game into the tragedy of one man's battle against insanity and his multiple personalities.
