Oh and I agree, the switch to actual human features does make her look more attractive and appealing. No more ridiculous slug lips. Maybe one day all game characters will appear realistically instead of looking like either Barbies or Frank Miller mutations.

I don't want to see a realistic Mario.

I'd like to see this next game be exactly what I see from that picture, a young scrapper having to fight for her life in the midst of a shipwreck in a chilly wilderness. Searching for warmth and food. Fending off predators. If they want to throw in stumbling across some ancient mystical **** a la usual Tomb Raider fare I suppose I'm down for that. It could be really awesome.

But, then again I'm kidding myself if that's the game I really think they're gonna do :V

I would play this. So hard.

Toby Gard, the creator of Croft, originally wanted her to be a Brazilian cat-thief named Lara Cruz who basically looked like a female Indiana Jones (he originally wanted a male but wisely decided it was too close in appearance). The round table discussion at Core went like this:

Core: She's not feminine enough. Give her short shorts.
Gard: But she's an adventurer who runs through trap filled tombs and fights dinosaurs!
Core: Then give her a baby blue short sleeve top as well.
Gard: God, fine.
Core: Her breasts are too small. Is there anything larger than DD?
Gard: You guys suck.
Core: What was her name again?
Gard: Lara Cruz. She's a Brazilian thief on the ru--
Core: Her name is Lara Croft and she's a bored British noble.
Gard: **** you. I quit.
