I doubt anyone could be more pumped about it than Blackberry. I'm just glad it's almost here and she'll be more focused on playing the game than talking to me about it. Although...I really want to play it, too!!!
I probably would if I weren't waiting on two or three other games this month. It'll all depend on which one I open up first when I pick them up all at once. If I open up New Vegas, I don't think I'll be as disappointed. Clearly it seems to be the most promising of them all for me.
THE ONLY thing that will disappoint me about this game is the amount of "special" items available only through pre-orders. Really, I hate content that is hardlocked like that.
Otherwise...I'm ready for the game...right down to the skills I'm going to tag.
Frankly, both of the Vegas-set sequels this year look like promising games. Though Dead Rising 2, fun as the downloadable prequel was, probably won't really be able to compete with this.

I am already have Fallout: New Vegas set to be my GOTY, and I haven't even played it yet. This is based on the fact that FO3 has pretty much quenched my thirst for games for the last two years.
I will be tagging survival, speech, and guns for my initial three skills. If my mouth can't solve the problem, hopefully my weapon will. And if I barely survive my encounters, I want to be able to restore my health...

There's only about 3 outfits and weapons (best buy, gamestop, and amazon I think) which will likely only be useful early on before you find better gear as you level higher.

I'll agree.
The only thing FO3 didn't quench for me was the desire for good story and dialogue.

If the former Black Isle guys can do for NV what the did for Fallout 2, you should be covered there. Fallout 3 was fairly well-written, but it just didn't compare to the predecessors.
Probably tagging....hmmm....small guns (is there ever a Fallout game where this isn't the best skill due to the prevalence of the weapon type compared to energy or big guns?), repair, and either lockpicking or explosives.

Im really hoping hardcore mode spices things up without being annoying.
And the weighted ammo being back is cool. No more unlimited ammo like in 3. Or maybe youll still find millions of bullets everywhere, but at least you cant carry all of it at once. Maybe melee weapons will be useful now for when you run out of ammo. They have better of added in sprinting.
