I hear Galaxy 2 is supposed to be super hard. Which makes a platformer fan like me super happy. CAN'T WAIT.

My brother's wife will get it to show up without trying to suck. She's ****ING TERRIBLE at video games, yet she keeps playing them.

I watched her die on a level in New Super Mario Brothers for three hours one night.

I originally thought the Super Guide was activated manually but that was probably me thinking of the patent. If the game is "super hard" then wouldn't that mean we'll always be staring at the super guide unless we're super awesome at playing Super Mario?

The way the guide is supposed to work is after a while it says something like "You seem to be having trouble with this. Would you like some help/hints?" And you can choose to get help or ignore it.

Nothing that I find all that interesting is coming out in May. Which is a good thing because I spent more than I was suppose to this month. Less reason for me to waste money.

But video games are never a waste of money!

I think the good thing about the Super Guide is they don't have to worry about alienating the casuals with difficulty. People who don't want the challenge can get walked through the hard parts and still enjoy the game, therefore there's no reluctance for the devs to put in hard parts.

A year ago Nintendo patented a system that plays/assists you in a game by pressing a button. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the first game to use their patented "Super Guide" system but it only pops up when you're sucking hard. The internet laughed and called Nintendo casual. Meanwhile it will be another hugely successful title and every publication will give it perfect scores.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii was the first, not galaxy 2.

When you die over and over and over in the same stage and the game has basically given up in your ability to get through it, it will ask if you want to use the superguide. if you do, it will show you a playthrough of it. at the end of the playthrough, you can decide to progress, or try it again yourself. if you progress, the stage is marked as completed, but you get no coins, no powerups, nothing from the stage.

i ****ing hope so. with the lame NSMB Wii being more successful than galaxy, i'd like nintendo to continue to make awesome games like mario galaxy, AND IT'S SEQUEL. other than disapointing games aimed for the casual crowd.

Well, not even my 8-year old sister was bad enough to see this so Galaxy 2 was the first time I've heard of it. I foresee a game where it's a manual option for the people who just want to see all the cinemas.

Then it's clear it isnt something your average gamer should minf.

as for NSMBWii's quality, I loved it. I played the whole thing co-op with a friend, and it was the absolute best multiplayer game I've ever played. I have never played it solo though. Didnt mind it having to be offline either, experience just isnt the same. you can't punch the guy next to you for shoving you in a hole online.
