Cave Story for Wii actually came out today.

for $12. keep in mind that this is a massive upgrade (depending on your taste). It's also a chance for Pixel to actually see some money for this game.

It's the only downloadable game released this week on the Wii. No other WiiWare, no Virtual Console. It's the star.

While I think the game is definately worth $12, the wii's point buying structure sucks for reasons like this. unless you have 200 points sitting on your wii, you are going to have to spend $20 to get this game. and then you have 800 points left. I mean, it's not bad if you have an SNES or Genesis game that you've been wanting to get too, but yeah. $20.

360's point buying system sucks for the same reason, althought not as much due to the lower minimum at $6.25. cheers to sony for letting you pay actual price for things over $5.

Second, I downloaded Super Metroid (as an example, seeing as how this is the one Magus and Mora continually get their panties in a bunch over) for the Wii's Virtual Console, played it for about 10 minutes, and have yet to pick it back up.


It's moreso that without the luxury of nostalgia goggles, it's sometimes difficult to go back and enjoy these games (for me). Tried to play the DS Chrono Trigger, tried to play Super Metroid...hell, I even tried to replay the original Metroid (yes, I HAVE played that one...many times, as a matter of fact) redone as Metroid Zero Misson or whatever on the GBA, and none of the above held my interest.
