USB storage for 360 soon?

Now the bad news to what could have been awesome.

According to the documentation, the update will allow consoles to recognize USB drives from 1GB to 16GB

Joystiq points out that only two devices can be registered to a console at a time, for a grand total of 32GB of additional storage.

32GB really isn't a whole lot, but it's better than nothing since you could find affordable hard drives.

Yeah, not sure if this is the same article, but Kotaku also reported on some pictures from China that apparently showed a new motherboard for the 360, leading to speculation about a 360 Slim. They mention something about USB in that article also.

If its something that would allow people to get cheaper harddrives for their 360s that ARENT from MS, yeah dont plan on seeing that anytime soon.

Also cnat you already plug in USB things in your 360? Ive used 8gig memory sticks and I use my Ipod on it all the time for custom soundtracks while playing.
