You'll get it, I think it's just that the people who pre-ordered were rewarded by getting the game early. So it's just expressing that by paying now, you don't actually get the game until it is released.

Except that if you pay now and want to play, I can just give you my friend copy, FRIEND.

Yeah he did, it's a professional artist who has worked on Spore that is the lead for Jonathan Blow's next game, The Witness.
