It saddens me that Tribes hasn't had a successor in so long. The recent Sector 8 tried to copy the formula but failed IMO. I know the market is flooded with vehicle-based first person multiplayer shooters but Tribes had this certain magic about it. I can't put my finger on it but the game was expertly crafted and when you got a good team it was a blast to play.

I'm down for a match or two.

I played Tribes 2 in the beta LONG ago, but i didnt quite understand how it worked. I definitely think i will download this and find people to play with.

i had actually bought tribes 2 a while ago. I hated it. The control scheme was whack and nothing made sense.


Is it really any fun, at all? Or am I better off reinstalling UT2k4?

well this is the first time using Wsad. As such I died on the first mission, on easy difficulty. But this does look like bunches of fun. Plus Den, when you play with us it's always fun.

Tribes 2 is one of the greatest multiplayer shooters ever made, Den. It is unreal but pretty much everything extraneous about that game is not present here (fewer weapons and vehicles).
