Woops, the setting is ambient occlusion and it simulates how shadows bend around objects instead of the unrealistic method used in most games where they sort of just cover things up. I set it to simple and saw a tremendous increase in frame rates.
Neverwinter Nights 2 is leagues better than the original and definitely worth the $5 especially when you consider the (still) active mod community. Assassin's Creed gets old quick but for the price of a burger I wouldn't complain too loudly when buyer's regret sets in. Haven't played Elven Legacy but reviews lead me to believe it's a generic strategy game so I'll pass. EVE Online is IMO the best MMORPG on the market and a 30 day subscription is worth the 5 ducats. Storm of Zehir is too combat oriented for my taste but it was a good expansion that added some much needed features to NWN2. Haven't played Age of Conan but servers shut down real quick so I can't imagine it's any good. Titan's Quest is a straight up Diablo rip off but I enjoyed it much more than D2 because the general atmosphere and skill tree were more to my liking. PlanetSide was ****ing kickass back when it was popular. I hear there's only one server left which means it'll be easier to find groups to play with. If you find a good group in PlanetSide you'll have an absolute blast. Drakensang is the greatest CRPG since Baldur's Gate and it's a shame the genre has been so neglected. Drakensang, as a result, is a great return to form but it's still different enough to not feel like the same game. Everyone by now has probably played Vice City so I won't harp on that.
alright, so far I got riddick, titan quest, ass creed and outrun 2006 8)
I wasn't aware NWN2 was good, I mean obsidian dropped the ball with KOTOR2...
I'll check that out!
P.S. Riddick 2 clocks in at over a day of downloading for me. How is digital distribution supposed to take off if this is how getting games is gonna be?

It's not that they dropped the ball but LucasArts cut their development time short at the last minute. There was an entire extra planet and tons of dialog trees they had to remove from the game to push it out the door a week before Christmas. Currently a fan patch is in development that plans to restore the missing content based on released development notes.
NWN2 suffered from performance issues when it first came out but those have been patched up. The game itself plays similar to the first NWN but there's actually a quality plot line and dialog trees that don't circle in on themselves. The first NWN was basically Diablo with D&D rules and NWN2 is closer to a true CRPG. The modding community is still active so you'll find some good player made modules floating around.
It seemed like it wasnt going to open for me either. It seemed frozen at a black screen, but i hit the ESC button a couple of times, and the game started doing whatever, and i have been able to change the settings and stuff...to be honest though, i should have just picked it up for the PS3.
