Re: The Official Final Fantasy VIII Topic

I never got past the 1st disk.

Not because I got stuck, just because the disc froze and I couldn't continue.

That stupid tower "dungeon" where you go in a circle down the tower for an hour then back up for another hour really bugged the crap out of me too.

Yes. You could physically buy the cards and play the game with friends.

Quistis just poured her heart out to Squall, telling him that she's going back to becoming a SeeD member because her superiors said that she lacked leadership capabilities and that she failed as an instructor.

Then Squall told her to talk to a wall.

I'm pretty sure they sold physical cards and they're pretty hard to find now.

You know, you could always use the fan software! Like TripleTriadExtreme.

EDIT: WHY DID EVERYONE POST SIMULTANEOUSLY? GEEZ.

On serious note because I think Final Fantasy Tactics is the best thing Square has ever released, *** SPOILERS ***
when Delita finds out Balmalfula is an assassin she draws a dagger on him but hesitates to kill him. Delita puts on his Joe Cool act and slowly approaches her with his arms out like he's going to strangle her. The camera pans away and you hear screaming.

She appears several times after that scene but never speaks again. She appears in the ending alongside Olaf who says a bunch of crap about Ramza and she's the one who points out the "mysterious chocobo rider" but she doesn't actually say anything which is weird.

              *** END SPOILERS ***

Leave it to FF fanboys to assume she got raped.

Golly. I don't even remember a character with such a stupid name. Bamalfula? Sounds like you got a mouth full of cereal.

People thought Celes was raped in FF6 too. When Locke goes into South Figaro and you see two guards beating her up.

I read this as rap-ists as in people who like to rap.

                        I'm okay with that.

On my way to Galbadia Garden. That means I had one Laguna flashback, and I had that cool set-piece on there train where you replace the President's car with a dummy car. I love all these active set-pieces the game throws your way. And I'll admit, that I forgot about a lot of the storyline since that last time I played it. I forgot all about Siefer breaking into the TV Studio and how Zell's bigmouth ends up getting the Garden into some hot water with Galbadia down the line.

I used to think Squall was an insensitive douche bag. But this time around, I kind of relate to him. :3

So much of my memory of this game is disjointed. I vaguely remember bits and pieces but without much context. Like there being a fat alien in the basement of the Garden controlling headmaster Cid and falling from the Sky while fighting Galbadia soldiers. Probably a good idea I decided to re-play this.

There is a big fat monster that secretly controls the Garden living in the basement and he's brought up with absolutely no lead in and you kill him as soon as you meet him.

Then the garden flies or some **** and fffffffffffffffff

FF8 is my favorite Final Fantasy. It does have flaws, and the junction system was tedious, but I still enjoyed the game. The storyline moved at a fast enough pace to keep my interest, except maybe early disc 2.

FF7 was a great game, and probably better although I like it less, but I'm glad Square took a different route with part 8 instead of just making an FF7 clone, which would have been the most easiest (and perhaps smarter?) thing to do from a business stand point.
