Does anyone have this game? Thoughts? I'm kinda surprised I've heard so little about it.

the graphics?Originally posted by John Mora View PostWhat is even different about this one?
for a game series that's hyped the crap up, sims 3 was such a quiet release. i've rarely seen people on my normal internet hangouts talking about it, i haven't seen it on the front cover of any magazines, and the big summer releases (infamous, prototype, a bunch of games i don't care about) blanketed it out.
it might be because spore was pretty underwhelming or it could be that i don't avidly follow game news but uhhhhh i stopped caring about the sims after the novelty of the first game wore off in 2000.

Re: The Sims 3
The main difference with Sims 3 is that your entire city/town/neighborhood is running at all times. You can seamlessly travel throughout the city instead of loading one place at a time. It's more of an open world game now than a collection of individual lots.
Also you create your sims' personality with a set of traits like cleptomaniac, paranoid, artisic, insane, etc and their behavior will reflect that. Before you just had sliders for things like outgoing, playful, neat, etc and they mainly seemed to effect how much your sims like certain objects and activities.
Also now you can change the textures on all objects, clothing, etc. Which I guess is a big deal for the people into the design aspect of The Sims. And there's an online video editing tool for people who like making machinima with The Sims.I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty!

I wish I saved the picture but someone was playing the pirated version that inadvertently got leaked a month ago and their sim was this fat, sweaty neckbeard with anime posters plastered all over his wall and computer tower. Also now you can change the textures on all objects, clothing, etc. Which I guess is a big deal for the people into the design aspect of The Sims.
