In my own defense I didn't know that was the name of the Card Game thing.

Actually Eye of Judgement ISNT horrible.

The only issue is with people making copies of cards and they still work, which Sony should have expected and accounted for. I dont see why they couldnt have just made it so that the camera wouldnt recognize the cards in black and white, but it also wouldnt read the cards if it did not have a defined edge. Then the only way to print out cards would have been with expensive color laser printers, which cost alot of money and cost alot in ink as well, and then would not have been cost effective for the pirates compared to just buying cards.

How popular is Eye of Judgement anyway? That's one of the few games that the PS3 has that has me interested, but if no one plays the game by the time I can actually afford to get a PS3 there's no point in playing it (and PS3 loses a good exclusive).

I'm pretty sure it has a niche popularity, and I'm guessing there ARE people who cheat by making fake cards, but I'm also guessing that those cheaters probably lost interest pretty quickly and moved on to something else.

If you ever get a PS3 and get the game, orius, I'd play it with you. I'm not great by any stretch, and it DOES take some time to set the whole camera/gameboard/deck up, but it IS fun. The only thing that sucks is if you want the expansion sets, you need to pay for a downloadable add-on to access those cards.

I would say if you're fairly sure you're gonna get a PS3, and if you do, know that you're gonna pick this up, it MIGHT not be a bad idea to get it now before you even have a PS3. I know my work (Sears) has the game (including camera, gameboard, PS3 disc, starter deck, and one booster pack) for $30 on closeout. Other retailers probably also have it for cheap (not Gamestop, though), but once they're gone at that price, they're gone. It's worth it for the $40 value camera by itself, and you're getting a decently fun game to go along with it.

And I know you're reading this thread Valk, and have said before that you were interested, but were deterred by the cheaters. I'd say pick this up at a local Sears (assuming they still have some), and I'd play with you online sometime (I actually bought all my cards and DO NOT cheat), in addition to giving you the download for the first expansion, as well as some other downloadable games perhaps (I MIGHT be coming close to my 5 share limit on most of my games).

But I CAN give you Flower, no problem.

I didn't like Flower that much.

But I'm pretty sure it's much better when you don't have an image of perv's bald mug crying the whole time while playing.

My focus issues make it impossible for me to play most TCGs. I constantly forget all the various rules.

the only reason I was really interested in Eye of Judgement was because the game keeps track of that stuff for you, and it wouldnt be that big of a problem (I assume).

but getting the game to play against one single person? not something I'd like to throw my limited amount of money at. if I buy a game now that GM is bankrupt and my family has a very unpredictable future, I have to make damn sure that it's gonna last me a while, and that I wont have any regrets afterward.

Yes, Mora, yes. I WILL admit the plastic bag scene DOES get my choked up. Took two or three viewings in the theatre for it to do so (I saw it five times during its theatrical run), but it still gets me every time.

I'm a sucker for well-done sentimental stuff that tugs at the heartstrings in a way that does not feel forced. I bawled on my first viewing of Roman Holiday too.

Hey, this is my thread. I have a right to derail it.

Sometimes I don't understand how companies can expect consumers to spend their money willy-nilly and then you say something like that and it all makes sense.

I'm not sure how being sentimental and emotional towards things that are MEANT to derive these feelings without being manipulative has any bearing on being a consumerist whore.

Saw American Beauty and didn't get what was so sentimental about it. Thought it was a funny movie, 'bout it.

How about the end when it's all like "treasure your life~" and Kevin Spacey flashes back to his family on a merry-go-round?
