I just don't understand why you feel it's better to have all that in a manual which is completely unnecessary in itself instead of inside the game. But then I'm one of those people that thinks everything should have as little packaging as necessary. I hate when some small thing is in a huge cocoon of plastic and cardboard for no reason other than to have a bigger presence on the store shelf. It's wasteful and pointless. CDs and DVDs don't need to be in anything bigger than a jewel case, dammit.
Because it's tangible. You can hold it in your hands and thumb through it and appreciate it as something permanent. A physical object lasts (theoretically) forever. A digital object lasts until it's obsolete and replaced by a new format. Screw that.
Yeah, I don't get why people want Alan Wake so badly.
It was cool four years ago. It'll probably end up like STALKER and be released to a successful but quiet run.
There's an infuriating part of the game where you have to defend a slow-ass ****** in a baseball costume from wave after wave of bad guy.
The Max Payne games are okay, simple shooting games except they have these retarded ****ing segments that color the entire games poorly for me.
I presume Alan Wake will have a nice lengthy setpiece where you have to guide a fat smelly smelly across a series of tightropes while spears fly at you from every direction.
Hopefully it will have quicksave mapped to a button.
Honestly, I never really got into Max Payne, thought it was trash.
But I thought Max Payne 2 was fantastic, and beat it multiple times.
So what's up with Lionhead's "Little Boy/Girl Simulator." The idea of making friends with a virtual pre-pubescent child is kinda creepy.
I like how microsoft WANTS you to believe it's really dynamic and intelligent, but when you show it most things, its going to ask what they are, or say they're something else, and it's going to misunderstand you when you talk to it, and ask you to repeat things. and the limitations of having full voice acting will limit it even further.
