Three games I played the hell out of when I was young, but cannot remember their names. These are all arcade games.
First one was a lightgun game, but used a crossbow instead of a gun. It was mounted to the arcade unit itself (meaning, you could not lift it up and position it differently...you could only move it up and down and left to right), and there were villagers walking across a moat, across what I think was supposed to be hell (maybe...details are fuzzy) and you had to shoot all the bats and other enemies that were trying to kill them. If all the villagers died before making it across to their destination on the other side of the screen, you lost. This was probably from about 1985-1987.
The second one is a footrace with gnomes or elves or something. You could either play against someone else, or you raced against the computer. It was in a forest, and there were hidden shortcuts and stuff. It was kinda like a sidescrolling platformer, but you were racing to a finish line instead. Timeframe is probably about the same as the above.
The third one I played in college with some buddies. It was a 4 player sidescrolling brawler, and you fought on subway trains, in the city, etc. I just remember some guys on the subway trains using axes as weapons, and semi-recently had "discovered" Pink Floyd, and used to laugh at the song title, "Careful With That Axe, Eugene," so when we played the game, I always used to say, "Careful with that axe, second axe guy." The game had (for the time, at least) amazingly huge sprites. I really do not remember much more about this game, except that I played it around 1989-1991.
Thanks in advance.
