    Re: Assassin's Creed 2

Like X3 and Fantastic Four? Those games rocked!

I tried getting into Assassins Creed, they had the platforming mechanics down. But the rest was unnecessary. After the first assassin kill, theres no point in finishing the game, since you do the same thing for the rest of it.

So, I'd kill a man if I could get this game now. Wouldn't you guys?

Wow, you guys really hated Assassins Creed...i pity you guys for not finding the enjoyment in the game that I did, and that has had me go back and even replay the game once.

There have only been 3 current gen games that I have played through to completion without taking a long break and getting back to it. Those are Ratchet and Clank Future: ToD, Killzone 2, and Assassins Creed.

THAT right there should speak for itself.

Yeah, you're ignoring way better games like Gears of War 2, Persona 3, Mirror's Edge, GTA4 and Left4Dead.

Assassin's Creed was a really good/fun game in my opinion and I really enjoyed playing it. I look forward to the new one.

I didn't think it was a great game, but it was a fun time-waster for a little bit, was worth the 20-so bucks on steam. I kind-of wished that they had more interesting assasinations though.

And are they going to add colors to this game? I swear, I think Mad World had a more broad color scheme than Assassin's Creed.

To quote a text-to-speech thing my buddy made:

"I shat myself silly. It was an awesome fun time, up until the bear started humping my ass."

That is saddest endorsement I've ever heard. It was so awesome I replayed it once. Wasn't awesome enough to replay again though.

For me the game was a blast to run around roof tops avoiding guards, except the cheap-ass archers and stone throwers in the later levels, climbing **** and dropping down on someone and stabbing them with my hidden blade. And the fact that that's basically all you do didn't really bother me.

What bothered me was that they would send you on these jobs to gather intell on your target but then when you went to do the assignment non of the intell matter because the everyone would just go ape **** when you got there.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

Way to go IRC, way to twist my words, like usual. I never said the game was perfect, not even the precious Gears of War or Fallout are perfect. And for ME to replay a game, even ONCE is a HUGE endorsement.

Jeez Jeroak, I'm sorry you phrased it in the most ackwardly way possible.

It's like they spend the entire budget in the first month, realize 90% of the game is unfinished, then pad out the length with the same mission structure.

                          But that's just my opinion.
I can't really argue with that. Assassin's Creed was a great short game but they just made you repeat it several times. The new Prince of Persia is good but you've got a couple dozens areas that aren't varied enough, and you have to travel through them at least twice (once to get to the fertile ground then again to collect light seeds) and four bosses you have to fight over and over. But at least a short amount of good gameplay padded out into a repetitious full game is better than all those games that repeat a core that isn't even fun to begin with.

Speaking of which, I hope generic guards wearing plate mail don't have the same athletic capability as your character. It's kind of dumb that you have a bunch of conscripts in 50lb armor leaping rooftops and managing to keep your pace. Saladin would have been screwed in combat against these European ubermench. Maybe having some faster, lightly armored but athletic guards but nothing breaks that sense of atmosphere than supermen leaping around in heavy armor but dying from a single counter attack.

After I watched the teaser I was planning on making a joke about gliding around in Da Vinci's gyrocopter. I can't believe they actually did it.

Man, though, Renaissance-era Italy? How many games have taken place during the Renaissance? That's kind of cool.

If they keep the impeccable graphics and add some actual dramatic weight to any of your actions this time around, this could be interesting.
