Maybe I can get a super high post count like Magus and Mora by regurgitating my opinion over and over onto others that don't care to hear it more than once. :V
i just beat the game and now im contemplating my next xenosaga adventure. ive read a few anti spoiler reviews of both 2 and 3 and i still cant decide if i should play through 2 and bare the pain of poor development but get the experience, or read up on 2 and go strait to the final installment.
I'd say at least try it. It's maybe not as bad as some people say, but it took me a lot longer than normal to get through it. Some of the story elements are worth the time though, but it still doesn't explain a lot of the stuff in Ep 1. If it's so bad that you can't finish it, then I suppose you could skip to 3, I think it's supposed to sum up what happens in Ep 2.
yeah, ziggy was human but then his dog died and he needed robot parts to survive.
OR SOMETHING.

committed suicide after his son died, but because he didn't pay attention to the fine print on his organ donor card, he got reanimated as a cyborg. So he keeps replacing his body parts with mechanichal parts to become less and less human because he wants to forget.

yea, momo is the underside of japanese culture. japan has the largest pedo market - just ugh.
the albedo scene was creepy and just bla. way to want to listen to what the crazy guy has to say rather then save the girl. there was several scenes where the cast just stands there with their fingers up their ass - crap is happening but they are just inert.
however, most of the other stuff was ok and the overall story is pretty good. i found myself very engaged and wanted to play at every opportunity. much of the battles began to suck if i played them for long periods (which i rarely did because a 30 minute cut scene would play every other screen). the whole game felt more like an interactive movie then a game.
true to the xeno format, the story is a complex mess that pretty much solves nothing by the end of the first game/disk. heh, you could even compare the constant cut scenes to the 2nd disk of xenogears.
i guess ill pick up the second and 3rd game and play as far as i can.
Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!
Card Three is released! You can find it here!
I liked the scenes with Albedo. He was actually the only reason I put up with Xenosaga 2.
I beat xenosaga 2 within like 10-12 hours, so yeah it is short. The game is like 5% story and 95% side quests. Anyway, I actually picked up Xenosaga 3 seeing as I'm a completist and finally succumb to that urge. Was pleasantly surprised, actually. It was like the creator was making an apology for the others. "Yeah... sorry about all the things that we introduced in the first and leave nothing answered... And sorry for making you go through the second. Here, this one will actually solve some things along with having an enjoyable combat system. That and the clear shout outs to Xenogears, with Abel and several gears or whatever I'm suppose to call them." It actually isn't bad. Of course, the characters love to preach, but that is too be expected.
