I just bought a used game at GameStop today.

I'm suddenly starting to feel really terrible.

I don't feel like playing Final Fantasy Tactics anymore.

(Nah, I'm pretty sure I finally caught the bug that's been going around my work. I still think it's an interesting thought, though. It's not like GameStop disinfects everything that comes into their store.)

I dislike their business practices. If it's new, why are you getting the disc out of a paper sleeve and putting it in the box that has a thousand stickers on it I'll never be able to remove?! Also, their used game prices stink compared to other used game stores. And preordering is such a racket. Often, with smaller games, they'll just order enough copies to fill the pre-order, and if you didn't pre-order it? Tough luck! But you can just walk across the street to Best Buy and they'll have racks full of copies for the same price.

I don't hate GameStop, I just recognize that they are the worst for used games in particular. New games/accessories, etc. is fine. But with used games I have been burned by them too many times.

I'm just still a little peeved that I once bought a game where the disc that was broken in half. That day, I learned to LOOK AT THE DAMN DISC BEFORE I PAY.

(To be fair, GS has learned a little too. I haven't seen anything- used or not- that bad since that time. Then again, I check the discs on used games now anyway... maybe they know that?)

same here. you guys must have some bad luck because i've never had problems with gamestop. the best place to buy used anything is always the internet or flea markets but i don't complain when i find something used in a gamestop bargain bin and it's complete. stickers all over the case? oh well, i'll shove it in a new blu-ray or dvd case and swap the paper sleeves it's not like they're rare and expensive.
