There possibly IS a way to do it, but you'd have to set it up beforehand, not via an invite or something. Again, the game is designed that way for a reason. It's a single player game with multiplayer (co-op, PvP) elements. To incorporate any traditional forms of multiplayer would completely destroy the atmosphere and immersion the game is designed around.

ie, they wanted to just make it a single-player game but because all the other cool kids are doing it, they threw in some random co-op.

Pretty ****** right now. A new Gamestop employee didn't know special editions are held for 5 days vice the 3 days for normal editions. They sold my copy and I just gave the manager this icy glare. I walked away with a $20 gift receipt and they said they'd have the game shipped from the nearest gamestop.

This isn't the first time GameStop screwed me on an Atlus game as 2 years ago I picked up a used Etrian Odyssey box but they didn't have the game behind the counter. The manager knows me by name and must be afraid of me or something because the dude goes out of his way to give me what I want (or it could be that I spend like $1,000 a year in that place).

RD, please do some research on the game before you make uninformed comments like that. The way the game is designed, your comment is not even close to being accurate.

Find me a store that specializes in video games, is available domestically, and allows pre-ordering and I'll instantly jump on them. No other store was doing the deluxe edition and shipping to an FPO address takes at least 2 weeks.

I have no car, and I'm a typical American who wants instant gratification, and there is a Gamestop in the mall I work at, so Gamestop is easier and more convenient for me than the intarwebs.



Plus, they like me there, so with my 2 Demon's Souls DE preorders, I managed to snag 4 artbooks/CDs (one is for Valk). The same day, they got a DJ Hero demo unit, and I had already preordered that game as well. The demo unit came with some T-shirts for employees. I asked if they had an extra if I could have one. The store manager gave me one that would have been his. See, the correlation is, I preorder all the time to get the free stuff, which helps their numbers. I renew my Edge card/mag subscription every year, so the employees never hound me for either of those. The one girl actually knows my taste in games, and goes out of her way to keep track of new stuff available for preorder that I would probably like, but doesn't hound me for it. In short, they know I'm in there usually 2-3 times a week, so they don't need to do all that stuff like they would for a generic customer.


I just need to be more diligent with filling out those online surveys. They're hooking me up, so I feel the need to help them out as well.

My Gamestop hooks me up as well and I have no doubt that they'll order a deluxe edition but I'm still pretty mad. I had that thing fully paid off and after a week of pulling 12-14 hour days I wanted to play something over Columbus Day weekend.

Oh well, I probably wouldn't have started. Brutal Legend comes out in a few days.

God ****ing dammit. That's the second ****ing time I've had a stockpile of 2000 souls slip through my fingers because of me not being careful enough and god dammit all to hell.
