    Broken equipment

Have you folks ever broken vidya game or computer equipment due to sheer anger, dumb luck or just flat out irresponsible? If so what was it and how much did it cost?

Hard mode: not just a controller.

I remember back when the 64 was just stepping down as the hot stuff as the PS2 was about a few months away or so. I was carrying my very own 64 in a plastic bag on the way back from a friends house. I was riding a bike (this is important) and holding the 64, 2 controllers and a rumble pack in a plastic bag on one of the handle bars. What I didn't notice was the rather big rip in the side with the weight of the system putting more strain on it. Well I decided to goof around on the bike and just wave the handle bars back and forth to get this nice zig zagging motion.

The bag rips the **** open and sends all the equipment to the pavement with enough clicking and clacking to warrant it's own techno remix.

Damage: The reset button was loose and didn't work, controller joystick broke off and D pad didn't work (though I think that was because the controller was already ****) and the system would only work on days when it felt like working. It also picked up a very distinct rattle noise. I don't remember but I think a few controller ports didn't work either nor the expansion pack.

This actually cost me nothing since the ps2 was coming up and everybody else pretty much owned a 64 already.

and earlier on in life in the NES era. I was fist pound the NES while playing Double dragon II: the revenge. God damn platform jumping sections (meaning 1/3 of the game)

Find a dog, honk it's nose. If you are bothered by this sentence. I guess you're just not cool enough for the noses.

I stepped on my copy of Star Wars destruction derby (or whatever it was called) for the PS1.

    Like 20 bucks.

    Didn't care too much.

yea letting someone borrow a game because you're too nice to say no and the fact that it is just a game, so it shouldn't matter... but it does!

i've lost a few games doing that. i'm one of those people who like to both collect games i consider worthy of collecting and play them too, but keeping them in immaculate condition for the future. i remember letting a person borrow my treasured original resident evil game, only to get it back at least 4 months later or more with a weathered and scratched up disc. he only returned it to me so he could ask to borrow another game.

I smashed my copy of WWF No Mercy with a hammer once, goddamn three-on-one matches. Result: the cartridge was broken into three neat pieces: the two halves of the outer shell, and the circuit board inside.

My N64 was also a casualty of my rage-fueled assault; a section of plastic directly in front of the cartridge port was pried off with the claw-end. It still works to this day, however.

I didn't replace anything, since I had a PSOne that I liked better anyway.

          I liked that game.

When the wheel on my bed broke I used an N64 game to even it out. Otherwise I don't destroy my electronics.

            Re: Broken equipment

I only break electronics if they fail me.

I've taken out a defunct SNES game genie (pickaxe), a broken sega dreamcast (pickaxe), and a first gen sega genesis (sledgehammer). We filmed my friend taking out a playstation but I haven't edited the video yet.

The only time I've broken something myself was when I kinda compressed a SNES controller while trying to beat bison on SFII. It didn't break, but I heard it make a little snap noise, so I stopped there.

The snowboarding stage in Mega Man 8 blew up my controller.
