Hello, I was bored, felt like wasting time instead of working on my game, and decided to post my opinion.

Not interested.

I have the PS1 version. It sucks. Not because the game sucks, but because the port does. Love the animé cutscenes (though they could've been less choppy), dislike how oftentimes the original scene played right after the scene's animé remake. And I hated (and am baffled by) the long load times. Come on, Square, half the screen comprises of a small tile repeating over and over again. What you do, copy the map into a whole pre-rendered map? And watching the streamline between map exploration and battle in SNES-version in YouTube videos just makes it all the more unappealing. And of course, the music and sound suffered a bit.

But, anyway, I intend to get the SNES version instead. If it's more expensive on eBay, oh well. I've never enjoyed a handheld port of a game as much as I do on a big screen. (The Dragon Warrior games being an exception, mostly because I never played the originals, partly because the ports include auto-targeting.) How I'll enjoy handheld remakes remains to be seen (just a few weeks to go; already pre-ordered). But being this is just a port, unless the extras are super-slick, I'll stick with playing it on a big screen. (Yes, I would've rather it had a 3D overhaul. You purists already have the SNES game.)
