    Ninja Gaiden 2....?

Why hasn't anyone posted about the game? I am guessing MGS4 is the biggest factor.

While I don't have the game yet, the demo seemed pretty good, minus the horrible camera that is brought back from the first one. While the graphics pushed to MGS levels, they are still pretty good.

Ninja Gaiden isn't really much of a "ninja" game. More like DMC and GoW. Those games give me my fix for that kind of play, and Tenchu gives me my ninja-fix.

No Ninja Gaiden for me, thanks.

I'll continue playing MGS4 but now that I beat it for the first time I suppose I can start this bad boy up.

I don't have it because I don't own or want an Xbox 360.

I'll definitely get it if it comes to PS3.

                        Re: Ninja Gaiden 2....?

Okay, let it be known that the fighting in this game is pretty great.

And let it be known the the fighting is the only thing that's great in this game.

Honestly, I thought that guy at 1up.com was blowing smoke about the camera in this game, but holy ****. It is atrocious. It's worse than Sonic Adventure. It too sticks close to you, it sticks too close to the ground. It's just up your ass the whole time. And when you move the camera up or down, the moment you let go of the stick, it just snaps back into place. This camera is like a snooty waiter who thinks he knows what's good for you. "Yes, um, I'd like to see what's above me, please." "Oh, no, you don't want that."

Like any good action game, you have to pay attention to the enemies' cues and see when they're gonna attack. But that's just impossible when you can't see them. You'll be fighting some dudes, doing pretty good, and then all of a sudden you'll get hit by shurikens or something from off screen, from all sides even. If you could SEE the source of the fire, you could probably do something about it, but you can't move the camera while you're fighting unless you have two thumbs on your right hand. The thing about the original Ninja Gaiden is that when I screwed up, I tried and fix my mistakes and get better. That's harder this time around. You can't fix these mistakes. The camera is an enemy that you cannot defeat.

Really, they could've taken a cue from God of War and switched to a fixed camera. Instead, they took a different cue from GoW and threw in a bunch of superfluous crap to pad the game out with stuff that just plain is not fun.

Water is back. Swimming is back. Thank God. Thank you, Itagaki - you must have gotten my letter. The letter that viciously requested, More water. And it's blurrier than ever before. You can barely see an inch in front of you. Not only that, but the ghost fish are back! You know, the ones that attack in swarms and delay your controls every time they hit you. Those lovable little scamps.

But what's better than ghost fish? Ghost fish and jumping puzzles. You better believe that you're going to fall off the top of something, and then you'll have to climb back up all over again. And mabye Ryu will grab the ledge? Maybe he won't. It's all a part of the challenge.

It's like Team Ninja forgot the difference between challenging and annoying. Team Ninja must literally be a team of ninjas. All they understand is fighting, they're too ****ing stupid to know anything else.

But if that's true, then wouldn't they know what's fun about fighting at least? The most fun enemies to fight have always been ninjas. They're smallish, they're manageable, you can juggle them, and they can still provide a challenge if they get out of hand. But every once in a while, the game will give you some arrows and be like, "Here. Shoot at these flying things while they shoot at you." The game really might as well ask me to take out the garbage.

And maybe Team Ninja would know what a fun boss fight is? I mean, there ARE cool boss fights. The Greater Fiends, for example, are satisfying. And yet, they're over in less than a minute. There's one fight in this colosseum, where you fight this boss with all of his minions cheering in the stands. I was like, OH **** IT'S ON NOW. I must've killed him in about 30 seconds.

These are the masterminds of the game - the stupid morons who prattle on and on about bull**** during the cut scenes - and they're this easy? They subject me to all this STORY BULL**** and then they can't even give me a good fight?

Why are the minibosses so much harder than the real bosses? Why do they have to have so much life? And why are they ALL so big and ugly? A giant flaming armadillo? An electric man-fish-train? And why are the strategies so obtuse? I want to slash things, I do NOT want to shoot arrows and run into walls because the camera gave me no indication how close I was to it.

I was fighting the flaming armadillo, and the whole time it just walked away from me. The only reason the fight took so long was, not because it was challenging, but because the boss wasn't fighting me. And then when I defeated it, it exploded and killed me. Seriously? That's just being MEAN.

My other peeves are just with inconsistent details. There are some fences you can jump over, and some you can't. There are some walls you can run up, and some you can't. There are some doors you can open, and some you can't. There was a door, and when I examined it the game said, "This door is held firmly shut." After playing through the area, I came out through the other side of the door, kicking it open. When the door was wide open, I examined it again: "This door is held firmly shut." Oh, brother.

I think I had to fight a water dragon at some point, and the game clearly wanted me to stay on dry land and shoot arrows at it. I figured **** it, jumped into the water and just slashed the damn thing, rubbing myself against it until all I could see was a muddle blue texture.

It was at this point that realized that I don't feel like a ninja any more. I feel like a moron. A real ninja would be able to see where his enemies were, for one thing.

That said, getting new weapons is exciting, and I will probably play this until the end if just to see what they're capable of. Also, the airship level was was actually really well set up.

Long story short: Itagaki is a lazy asshole and I'm glad he's gone.

What Kefka said are my thoughts exactly.

The camera didn't bother me so much in NG1 due to that every goddamn enemy didn't have a cheap long range attack that was out of shot of the camera.

Which disapoints the **** out of me because I was mega hyped for this ****.

                            LOVE IT.

The camera being too far away when running around is my only complaint.
