I really like Armageddon. I appreciate it for what it is. It was made just as a chance to bring every character into the 3D new fighting system before moving on to the next-gen where they were planning to do somewhat of a reboot. Having so many characters meants some things had to be sacrificed.
It sounds like the gameplay in this MK v DCU may be good but I'd much prefer if they did a seperate DC fighting game and a real MK sequel instead.
I'm miffed at how Boon grouped every other GOOD fighter with his.

Tekken had many improvements made to the series. 2 added more OTG elements and throw/reversal moves for characters, 3 quickened the pace, added way more moves, characters and hit states for more combos, as well as more escapes. 4 had environmental interactions such as slopes and walls as well as a more realistic combat model. 5 was a "return to form", going back to what made Tekken 3 so good, but with the new "crush" system, a better juggle system, more new characters and even more distinction between them all. Throughout most of the installments, balance issues were made also.
MK just kept getting worse until UMK3, which was the most balanced. But then it all turned to **** with the 3D games. Deadly Alliance was a good first step, but then came Deception(which was ironic, considering it had many deceitful game elements, such as faster gameplay, which wasn't actually faster) which was even more broken, then came Armageddon, which was just as broken as Deception, if not more so(one button infinites PWN ALL). And throughout the whole series, movesets were mostly just swapped around, like everybody went to the same super martial arts teacher or something and decided kali sticks would be a better fit than the dragon style for this tournament. Martial arts techniques were degraded to simple clothing options.
Sorry to rant like that, but MK is the only 3D fighting franchise that's got major problems.

It'd be cool to see a MK vs. SF game though. The flash movies were incredible.
Quote of the moment - "When you cut down a tree, don't stand near it."
By the looks of things, they have done NOTHING to improve the game's animation. God, even the standing animations look stiff. But at least it seems scorp still has his fatality.
Did superman use ice breath on Sub Zero?
Wouldn't that not do anything to him?
They took out fatalities?
Does logic not apply/?!?!/1
If Subzero and Frost can freeze Scorpion why shouldn't Kal-El be able to?
There are finishers but their not called fatalities and they won't be as bloody considering it's T rated. Also, the DC hero characters will have even less violent finishers cause they don't kill people.
Has logic ever applied to either Mortal Kombat or DC? Well, maybe DC a little but only a little.
I'm sure it'll be like the rest of the MK games where it is fun for one weekend.
I've been playing UMK3 since it came out and I'm still not bored with it yet. In fact, being able to play it online now has re-sparked my interest.
Needless to say the MK series has been a mixed bag, I mean we have great games like MK2, UMK3, and Armageddon, but we also have terrible games like MK4, MK Advance, and all the original gameboy versions.
Unfortunately, no matter how many MK games Midway adds online play to, I don't think UMK3 will ever be topped as far as tournament quality.
I think this game has come a long way in the past few months. Visuals look pretty tight, Batman's rendering looks a lot better too. Overall game looks very solid. I'll be picking it up with my next paycheck.
