Well, the prospect of tailoring Rock Band's DLC to your liking is what really sells me. I personally can't stand the later tiers of GH 3 when it gets to the more shred oriented stuff. Not that I can't hack it, I'm able to complete it, I just dislike the music for the most part (not all of it's bad- I just don't really like guitar music THAT much).
I dislike GH3 towards the end as well because it seemed like the note charts were just difficult for difficulty's sake and not even accurate to the song being played.
The example I bring up is "3's and 7's", during the verse riff. Going from GR_B to R_BO in such a short span is ridiculous, not to mention inaccurate when said R_BO chord is depicting a note that's lower than the note depicted by the GR_B note in the real song. I didn't know you had to move your hand up the neck of the guitar to get a lower note!
If you can't do Hard and enjoy it, then yes, GH3 is bad. The chasm between medium and hard is inexcusable...I still have to admit I do enjoy the set list, and I'm pretty competant at Hard and Expert.
Still, GH3 turns a lot of people off because it's no longer for "everyone," and at the same time, suffers from being too driven by "I've heard this on the radio" syndrome. Unlike the 1st 2, there aren't as many hidden independant discoveries to enjoy.
I honestly didnt see what all the hype is about, its no where near playing a real guitar, I personally was severely disappointed
But didn't you just say you played it on a PS2 controller???? That would be like saying playing Madden is nowhere near playing real football, or playing Call of Duty 2 is nowhere near like fighting in WWII.
