You're crazy. You won't have any time to enjoy the games if you are just rushing through them to keep on schedule. I like to play games on my own time... Although that may be why I own like 30 unopened games that I haven't had time to play yet.

      Re: Gaming resolutions for 2008?

Exactly. I've got nearly 60 I haven't beaten, and a good chunk of those I haven't even played.

I paid good money for these games... good money, with the intention to PLAY them. Any game can be beaten in a week or two. And a lot of these games are either short, or half finished. I didn't set it up in a way that I'll spend all my free time playing games. Just that I'll spend a couple days a week sitting down and REALLY playing.

And of all the times I've said "Ok... I'm gonna sit down and finish this game" only the first 20 minutes or so of picking it back up were unenjoyable. By the time I remember where I was going and who I had to talk to, it was fun again and I kept playing cause I WANTED to, not because I wanted to have it finished (which is why I started playing). The hard part for me has always been to start playing a game again, or start a new game. Not to finish it once I'm already into it.

I've seen the reply a few times but really... not enjoying the game is not even an option or remote possibility. It's a matter of me drifting away from games, or setting them down to never finish. I bought them, and if I didn't like them I'd have sold or gotten rid of them. And if it gets to the point where it's just nowhere near done, and I'd have to play games over doing something social for the sake of playing them... I'd stop it.

I mean, I wouldn't have come up with this if I didn't feel like I'd be able to do it within reason. I have the free time, it's just about the motivation to actually pick it up and play really.
      Keep the change.

I plan to buy no more than 1 game a month for the next 8-9 months.

1 game a month for the winter season is just not possible.

I'll probably end up breaking this resolution by the middle of February.

Well, january is pretty slow, so the middle of february sounds like a likely candidate for that to be broken.
