I couldn't agree more. The only game I'm used to WASD controls with is Oblivion, but I'm sure there's an easier keyboard configuration.

Valk, I take it you've played MP3? It's great to hear the controls are good, but hows the rest of the game? Any cool powers returning from older games?

weapon upgrades stack again, for one.

I love Metroid Prime 3. The story is really, really good. Quite a few things are explained, like what exactly mother brain is.

Re: I Decided To Get A Black Nintendo Lunch Box

        I'd highly recomend:

        Skies of Arcadia: Legends
A must-buy, IMHO. One of the biggest sleeper hits on the GameCube, although it is a remake.

        Beyond Good & Evil
Another sleeper hit, and another must-buy, the gameplay is solid and fun, and the story is awesome as well. All around great game that deserves more credit than it's been given.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Just an awesome Zelda game, hands down. If you like Zelda- heck even if you don't, buy this game.

        Tales of Symphonia
For the epic storyline and awesome battle system. Long, twisting story with amazing characters.

I thought about getting Tales of Symphonia. Aren't there a thousand games in that series or something? Do I have to know what happened in the previous games?

Tales Series = Final Fantasy Series

In the sense that none of the games are directly related (except for Tales of Destiny 2, which is not to be confused with Tales of Destiny II and there's also upcoming Tales of Symphonia sequel, but I digress...) and the only thing that they do have in common is the battle system (to a degree), items, monsters, and themes.

            ...

Why am I getting so techinical? I don't even really like the Tales games.

No, it's like as toaster said, tales=final fantasy. Everything is set in it's own universe and such. ToS is one of the better versions. Also a sequel to ToS is coming out to Wii.

Sweet. I like Xenosaga, Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, so will I like Tales for the Gamecube?

                  Dude Legendia pwns Symphonia.

I own Symphonia though... I got it for like 15 dollars so it was definitely worth it.

Re: I Decided To Get A Black Nintendo Lunch Box

I really didn't care for Symphonia a lot of the times, but it is probably the best one out there. I tried Abyss, but I was feeling much too jaded to even enjoy it. So I stopped.

                      But seriously lil_das, Legendia?

It's easily considered the worst Tales game made and it was practically phoned in just to make an extra buck for the PS2-Tales-deprived audience.

Re: I Decided To Get A Black Nintendo Lunch Box

I bought Symphonia, played it for a few hours, and never played it again. I didn't realize, as it was the first Tales game I had ever played, that the battles were real-time. I had been kinda hoping for something turn-based.

                        *shrug*

I guess I needed something to scratch that post-Skies of Arcadia Legends itch, and Symphonia just didn't really cut it, IMHO.

Plus, whoever said that SoA is boring or whatever earlier in this thread is way off base.

Seriously I enjoyed Legendia way more. The battle system was more fun and the characters weren't as gay. Plus the world is on a giant ship... That is sweet.

Legendia is pretty much the worse tales game, hands down.

Symphonia annoys me... Every character looks like a child/girl/clay aiken back up dancer.

I couldn't get into Skies of Arcadia. It bored me, plus I hated it when one boss would go after that blond character I had 90% of the time with 4000+ damage. The ship battles were kind of interesting, but they were so SLOOOOOOOOW.
