i am wondering if this is a problem or not. i couldnt figure out where the soft hum was coming from when i plugged it into the wall socket. i narrowed down the direction of the sound and found that it was coming from the box a plug into the wall. i tried another plug and it was the same thing. does anyone elses do this? should i worry that there is a potential fire hazard? maybe a recall out there or something?

is it a high-pitched noise that's barely even audible? if so, yes. all three chargers I've had for my DS/GBA (it's the same charger cable) made that noise.

If you want a cooler humming noise put your ear up to your Laptop's charger box thing. The humming is natural it's just the conversion of electricity into the proper Volts needed.

Yeah. All kinds of devices make that. I used to think it was the sound of a TV. Turns out it's when electricity travels. It's really loud around those voltage meters on the sides of houses.Comment
