    Re: I HUG PLAYSTATION.

With this kind of lag, I'm not really sure WHAT kinds of games it was meant for. Even a typical FF would need better control than this, for the ATBs.

Sounds like something that would get fixed in a patch or what have you. I love the idea, but lag is my worst enemy. EVER. I'm definitely going to try it at work tomorrow, though. I like the idea.

I am coming for all of you!

I'm sure they'll improve the lag. probably why they didnt officially announce the feature yet.

The digg article about that was misleading. Title was something like PLAY PS1 DISCS ON YOUR PSP and I was like NO WAI. Kinda disappointed now that I know what it really is.

It's a neat idea n'all, but I think it's more important that you can access all your media using your PSP than the fact that you can play PS1 games on the go.

Besides, you have to physically have the disc in the system right? That means if you get bored of one game you're pretty much stuck.
          ...and that's why.

I'm still waiting for them to let you stream DVDs and such to the PSP.

              Den, stop it at once.

This is the positive Sony topic. {:3

It's not gonna happen, that would cannabalize their UMD movie sales, and they are bad enough as is. I know that everyone who has a PSP doesn't own a PS3, but still.

And what's the status with that? Are they still putting movies on UMD, because I can't think of the last major release that came out that was on it.

I'm actually thinking being able to play PS1 game disks is more of a side effect of enabling PS1 games to play on the PSP (Since you can download them off PSN, then send them to your PSP).

The lag has to do with how fast the PSP and PS3 communicate. Until they can make the data transfer rate faster, there will always be a little lag.

I tried a few games yesterday. It's sad that Lair is the only PS3 game you can remote play, considering it's literally unplayable without motion sensitivity (Though you can use the nub to fly). The lag on Lair also wasn't too bad, for a few minutes of play, then it got horrible all of a sudden.

As for PS1 games, the only ones you could play would be (Ironically) Final Fantasy Tactics, RPGM1, and the SNES era Final Fantasies. There's a few others I think might play okay (Mainly RPG's, though any action component will be hard to play).

Overall, it's a nice feature. If they can somehow fix the lag it can be a great feature for those of us who have lots of PS1 games.

typing in RPGM1 is a bit annoying with the lag. but yeah, it is playable.

hey paul, what happens when topics merge?

seriously, is there a small explosion or something?
