Think about BioShock. The main reason that game was such a hit was because there was nothing else out there worth playing at the time.

Ya you are right. It definitely had nothing to do with BioShock being an overall great game and contributing to the gaming industry by redifining FPS's.

Ya you are right. It definitely had nothing to do with BioShock being an overall great game and contributing to the gaming industry by redifining FPS's.

Of course, because most gamers don't want new and innovative stuff, they want Madden and HALO... and maybe Zuma.

I think it's all about lack of information. I didn't hear or see anything about it until this topic came up. Then again, the Pavilion is my main source of new game info anyway.

In my opinion it did. There has never been anything like Bioshock. It didn't even feel like a FPS. Show me an FPS anything like Bioshock.

I figured its success was attributed to the massive amount of hype and marketing it had.

Oh, and the top-notch presentation and all that.
