"As opposed to playing on Nintendo or Playstation, if you play it on Wii..."
Oh, yeah, well, because they have STABBING MOTIONS and a heck of a lot of stuff that's completely gruesome and defies all decency.. On a family console.
Why is it so many people think "family" means made for kids? Families tend to include at least one adult. And if stabbing motions defy all decency then for cripe's sake never watch the Food Network. Stabbing, slicing, fileting, it's a gore-fest.
You do have a point. But still, didn't the 360 and PS3 say they weren't going to play AO games?
Manhunt 2 was edited enough that it now has an M rating.

It was at one point.
Actually, it wasn't. That was a preliminary rating. At that point it's still officially "Rating Pending" until the developer decides to appeal, edit the game, or accept the preliminary rating.
Re: "As opposed to playing on Nintendo or Playstation, if you play it on Wii..."
And now it's not, proving the rating system does keep a pretty good check on how 'bad' games can be. So to all those people clamoring the system doesn't work they're wrong, and the main reason it doesn't work in some cases is because parents aren't stopping their kids from buying the games, or educating themselves about it. A little bit of it is incompetent employees allowing kids to purchase it, but really where did the kid get the money, and he has to play it at home at some point so the parent would notice.
Also how many people do you know who watch boxing, or play it in a video game, go out and punch people in the face on a regular basis. And Boxing is in the pack in that comes with the Wii (your 'family' system). Boxing is perfectly legal (well in a competition) which lessens the feeling that it's wrong to the kid I would think. It would seem this kind of over the top violence would immediately be picked up by the kid as wrong, and something he shouldn't actually do, so he'd be more inclined to box someone than try to kill them in a gruesome way.
This is why I think arguments against violent video games are pretty baseless.
Also FPS lolol.
Re: "As opposed to playing on Nintendo or Playstation, if you play it on Wii..."
I like how they compare it to heroin by saying that "if someone has a propensity towards heroin, do you give them the needle?"
For that to be even remotely valid, everyone who buys Manhunt 2 would have to ALREADY be predisposed towards violence.
Which would mean, like, it's not the game's fault anyway...
Jesus, I'm never really sure what these people are trying to accomplish. It's like they live in some weird parallel universe where children started ripping each other's spines out after playing Mortal Kombat.
Re: "As opposed to playing on Nintendo or Playstation, if you play it on Wii..."
it's just that the wii isnt a "family console". it's a console where all types of games are going to be released. Resident Evil 4 is on the Wii, and that's MORE violent than manhunt, considering the screen in Manhunt 2 now goes blurry during the kills.
Re: "As opposed to playing on Nintendo or Playstation, if you play it on Wii..."
I think that it is a ridiculous argument. I am extremely satisfied that it is going on the Wii. Maybe people should understand that motion control makes these games more fun. If you have a problem with violence then simply do not buy the game.

I thought Manhunt 1 was pretty repetitive and a little boring. I am interested in playtesting this one. Only to see if it will actually grab my attention.

I'll be honest, there has never been any appeal to me personally when it comes to Manhunt, but i'm not knocking it, just not my kind of game. I understand the appeal of it to others, cause it can give a "thrill".
