has anyone ever forgotten to save?

im sure alot of you have. ive now done this 3 times this week. went to a save point and either forgot to use it, or thought i did and went right into a dicey extra boss battle.

so tell me your worst stories of bad saving. i guess the goal here is for me to feel less of an idiot (yeah, i can already see your fingers typing some witty reply to that).

i "only" lost 3 hours of work, but strangely took only one hour to catch back up.

I've done one worse: once when I went to save in KOTOR I accidentally went to load instead, and found that I had just lost an hour of work.

I think I lose about 2 hours before on star ocean the second story. if anyone has played that here you will know why i nearly destroyed my controller.

In the same vein, how about time loss due to a boss fight or a sudden random encounter that you should have been able to handle but the game threw out some cheep crap that killed you and made you lose a lot of time without saving. for me FFXII countless times.

I know what you mean, Bio, but FF Tactics threw that at me more than any other game.

Random encounter against TWELVE MONKS. And I just happened to decide to not use Orlandu.

Yeah, SO2 was frustrating like that. I seem to remember doing such a thing once with my first trip through FF6. (Maybe more than once, but it's been 12 years). It was the part where you're on the floating island and had to get out of the magitek factory, then the long flashback before you got the airship. After getting the airship, I lost to some random encounter and, well, you know. Losing to bosses I can tolerate to an extent, but losing in a random battle just drives me nuts.

lol tell me about it, that is the worst. you just look at your screen and go wtf?!

its usually some stupid status effect followed up by a cheap power spell that you cant cure because your party is too busy killing eachother in confusion. the ff bad breath spells are nasty. nothing like getting hit with every status under the sun and not be able to do a damn thing about it.

my favorite is the stupid annoying puzzle that you finally complete and say you will never try it again only to be cut down in the next battle and have to do it again. theirs a garbage heap filled with controllers dedicated to those situations.

Once, I worked on a game for 3 hours straight (In the middle of the night), and I was so tired I turned the game off without saving everything. That made me angry.

I once forgot to save when I was playing Lufia and had to retrace my steps in levels and distance.

Well, FFXII purposely puts level INSTA-KILL monsters in almost every dungeon that you can't handle until like, 10 hours later. That's the kind of game where you need to save like, every 20 minutes.

i cant seam to find an affordable copy of ff12 anywhere. i guess im just too cheap. i guess ill be warned about the save thing for when i do get it, because i tend to not save often.
