Yeah, I'm not that crazy about Halo. But I chalk a lot of that up to the fact that I can't stand a lot of FPSes.

I thought I disliked Halo because I didn't like FPS', then I played Timesplitters 3.

Now I know I just dislike Halo for its own reasons.

I played the first oddworld game for 5 minutes.

            It was really boring.

Never cared about oddworld games again.

            The End.

So... you're going into movies/TV because it's easier to get money for your projects? That's what I gathered... but isn't it harder for your idea to get picked up by a TV/movie company than it is a game company? I seems that way.
Lanning already has a huge name, it wont be that hard for him to get picked up since the movie industry has a structure that allows multiple parties to buy in.

EA is "evil" because they keep buying out game companies, and not allowing them full creativity.
Its not just EA, all major publishers want the IP's and make it hard for developers.

And the rest of this is my own opinion and from my point of view. But one of the major reasons I think stranger did so poorly is because it was released on Xbox. Think about it, like most of you have stated people own Xboxes for halo.

Most people that want original and creative games own a PS2 and/or GC.

When I talk to people about systems and games they own, most people I have talked to who own an xbox, when asked what games they own, the first couple of words outta their mouths are halo 1 and 2....and not much else.

Doom 3 is okay and all, considering you get poor framerates no matter how much money you spend on your hardware. It runs extremely slow for me, and I know someone that has a 2.5ghz computer with a gig of ram that doesn't do much better with it.

Anyway, back on subject, the artistic quality of Oddworld was outstanding, I liked it alot. But I still think that someone with a large chunk of change is going to buy the franchise.

It must all be in the radeon 9800 cause I have the same processor as you and half the ram.

I don't think that's it really, there must be something else. ATI isn't all that advanced.

Possibly. I don't know much about ATI as they stand today, but I know I had quite a few of their products that were all underpowered and barely worked, so I stopped using them. I don't know if they got their asses in gear by now, but hopefully they fixed all the massive problems ATI products had.
