Yeah, that was on the map Lockout. A very fine map, perhaps my favorite, but that was the first time it was ruined for me. Very frustrating indeed. But Halo 2's a whole other beast with a whole other assortment of problems, glitches being the least of its faults, of which I have encountered few.

Excellent look at Double Dash and DS there.

DAMN, Double Dash is a great game. Try ruining that one, you WIENERS.

All I ever had to do to win in double dash was hold down the gas button and steer.

            ditto what SHFC said.

The only thing is that there needs to be an easier way for people who aren't exploiting glitches not to get pitted against people who are. When someone's rrecord is 352/0 like Den said they should only be matched up with people with similar records and they can have fun seeing who can out snake whom, while the other people can race in peace.

Getting destroyed by people better than you makes you learn to be good fast.

Snaking is what they do in Mario Kart DS. I have a big problem with that. It completely dominates your opponent unless he starts snaking too. It's also not that hard to do, so there's really not much skill involved.

There's a difference from game breaking glitches and glitches that are perfectly fine.

                    Snaking is game breaking.

Wave dashing is only a great add-on to SSBM.

                      What's the difference?

Like you don't know? I'll tell you anyways.

Game breaking glitches are like snaking, where you're forced to utilize the trick to stand any chance of winning. Anyhow, this is a job for patches to fix.

Wave dashing only diversifies your options to use against your opponent. Wave dashing doesn't gaurentee you a win against someone who can't wave dash. It's only an addition to the gameplay.

You really can't compare the two

                          Re: Snaking and wavedashing: cheating?

They're both glitches and thus neither are part of the designed gameplay.

                            So?

I don't see how that automatically negates an awesome part of the game. It's more functionality. Wave dashing makes SSBM a better game. Calling foul against any glitch will only hold back games. Unintentional gameplay mechanics that improve the game should be embraced. I think it's one of the most beautiful parts of competetive gaming.

Of course, there are certain glitches that ruin the game, and those should be fixed in patches.

I don't get why you'd be against a deeper, more competitive game.

uh, glitches usually are part of the designed gameplay, just not the intended gameplay

Snaking's not really a glitch; all it is drifting both ways really fast so that you go in a straight line.
