First the Wii shortage, now the PS3 being lame.

Both of their names rhyme with evil! >_<

360 has always been there for me, though.

You mean the 3vil60? At least Wii and PS3 don't feature a Red Ring of Death! Mwahaha! All of them are out to get us.

I spent my money on all three of them. I know evil. I've stared it in the face.

But 40 GB not being compatible at all is lame, if it turns out to be true.
It all depends on the price and whether or not you plan on trading in your PS2. Right now Sony is trying to figure out how to get the customers in the door. They've lost exclusivity for almost every third party franchise short of MGS, and may lose them entirely if things don't turn around pretty quick. The price is the most glaringly obvious and maybe even the only reason why the system isn't selling, so cutting features that aren't entirely necessary to allow for the needed price drop may end up being a smart move. If the non-backwards-compatible PS3 is $400 or less you'd be saving a lot more than if you traded in your PS2, and they might even leave a possibility of a low cost upgrade in the future, maybe an internal add-on, much like putting in a bigger hard drive.

Yeah, and Microsoft has never been equated to the Third Reich and is the last company to be accused of being cozy with the Devil.

Sony just has to do their black masses with a little more feeling. They gotta show Satan they really want to win.

The main reason Sony is losing exclusives is Microsoft is buying them and Sony chooses not to. The main reason PS3 isn't selling is the current game line-up. There are a decent number of good games but so far they're games you run out and get if you have a PS3 not games you run out and get a PS3 for. I'm sure everybody who's even slightly interested in PS3 has a few "I need to get a PS3 in time for that" games in mind but they're all comiing some time next year so they're not buying one yet.

I refuse to believe that Sony isnt trying to buy exclusives. they did that left and right in the PS2 era to keep games from hitting vastly more powerful the gamecube and xbox (don't ask for my source on this, I'm not sharing, and it's not agetec). I think its just that they can't spend as much as microsoft can, so they aren't able to buy the exclusives they want.

So their "we don't buy exclusives" excuse is just like their "rumble and tilt don't mix" excuse.

Give props to the Microsoft this time around. They're being really smart and they really learned from the last generation. I just wish the system weren't such a piece of crap (red ring of death, disc tray errors, etc.).

So in that sense, it's exactly like the PS2 of last generation.

The site that reported the 40 GB having no BC took its info on the new model down and another source Pocket Lint is reporting it'll have BC and wifi but 2 USBs instead of 4 and no card readers. If that's the case and the US price is $400 or 450 I might end up deciding to get one.

I've always been curious about the card slots under my PS3's hood. Especially the wide card slots.

Well, just the bigger card slot right next to the SD one. Sony is very mysterious.
