1up has to be generating money though. maybe they're looking to sell both because of how deeply connected the two are? like, you can't sell EGM without 1up, because then everyone on it's staff would just stay with 1up and EGM would just be the name for sale.

once they stopped doing REAL game previews and switched their look is when everything went to ****. if I bought EGM, I'd bring it back to the way it was.

Looks like Dell bought 1up. http://dell.1up.com/ It's Dell all over. But the regular 1up.com page just has a Dell logo and Dell Partners tab added.

That looks to simply be an alliance. The important stuff is the copyright info at the bottom, and that's still showing it as Ziff Davis.
